Beautiful yet limited

Publié le 15 oct. 2023 sur HomeAway
The location is amazing and as described. However, upon arrival hours past check-in the host didn't know I was coming and had yet to provide check-in info. Luca, the host, said she needed 15 minutes to ready things in addition to the "uh, who are you?" greeting. During my stay there were multiple impolite interactions. My favorite was that I needed to drive to town to get dry firewood to run the only source of heat, the wood stove.

1) Neil arrived 30 after my listed check-in time. It's true that I had a mix-up with scheduling and wasn't expecting him, so it took a few minutes to add an entry code for him to the smart-lock and a few other minor details - but the smart lock logs clearly show when a code was added and every time the door was opened on his arrival day (Oct 11), so I don't know why he feels the need to outright lie and claim he arrived "hours past check-in". 2) A few minutes after his arrival, Neil remarked that he had "hoped for some company" during his stay, and later invited me out to dinner. I'm usually more outgoing with guests, but as a woman living alone on the same property, this kind of inappropriate behavior from male guests makes me VERY uncomfortable - so I kept our interactions brief, and asked a neighbor to be present as much as possible, in order to avoid being alone around Neil. 3) There was a large stack of dry, chopped up ash logs for firewood in the carport, a few steps from his door. I have text message records of telling Neil that it's available for him to use - his claim that he had to drive to town and buy his own firewood for heat is a complete lie. 4) Also, after having seen my neighbor chopping up some wood for me, Neil repeatedly suggested that he could also chop some. At first, I tried to explain that the only dry wood was the already chopped and stacked pile - to politely discourage him from trying to swing an ax around. However, he kept asking and requesting to chop up wood himself, so I eventually flat out told him that I don't think my liability insurance would cover letting guests do that. Overall, I got the impression that he had expected to show up and be swooned over while playing lumberjack. I put a lot of effort into making sure my guests have a good experience, but there are some experiences that I just don't provide.

Labor Day Trip

The property was just what we excepted. It is in a very country setting and close to the sights we wanted to see. The host was very friendly. The place was also very pet friendly. We will be staying there again.

Leave Your Troubles Behind

Entangled Acres is a beautiful and serene property. Coming from Long Island, this property transported me to another world which is exactly what I wanted. It was just me and my dog who went and the property was a perfect getaway for my pup. She got to meet the horses and play with the host's dogs. Being by myself, I felt totally safe and relaxed on the property. Luca is so welcoming and answered every question I had (which was a lot). This property also acts as a non-profit for the animals who live there and it was amazing learning their stories and see how much they blossomed. I only stayed a weekend but once you set foot on that property, you never want to leave!

We stayed here while visiting family. Great place to stay. Nice trails for walking. In a great area outside of town. Perfect place for our stay.
