Excellent rooms in central location. The staff is somewhat less available than at other locations (no overnight person) but otherwise fantastic stay!

The place was located right near the train station. Amazing food clean spacious rooms and great hospitality.

Really lovely room above restaurant/bar but no disruptive noise as closed by 10pm. Breakfast not till 8 but were prepared to leave a snack if need to get out early.

The Porterhouse is in walking distance to the train station, but on the other side of the tracks getting it away from the main tourist area. The Hop On/Hop Off buss is at the train station. It was absolutely silent at night. We were able to use that or just walk to any place we wanted to see. We slept with the windows open during out visit and at night time there wasn't a peep to be heard. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast, and once for dinner and the food preparations were exceptionally good, especially the aged steak. The staff were very accommodating, assisting with getting our luggage up the stairs to our room. This is an old classic building that has been well updated and within those constraints I would rate the hotel as exceptional and worth a revisit the next time I find myself in the area.

Overpriced
Publié le 30 juill. 2024 sur HotelsOverpriced for what it is which is a converted pub / house down a residential suite with our room overlooking a building site with noise and dusk at the premium. The restaurant downstairs was nicely decorated but lacked atmosphere and the food was average. The rest of the building needed some tlc and the room was ok but not £250 ok!!

Great stay, friendly and welcoming staff. The food was also very nice, we had dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both meals very much. The room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed.
