Quiet Vacation
Posted Oct. 6, 2024 on HomeAwayUnit had everything we needed. No air conditioning but lots of fans, still was too warm for us. It is very close to the pool with nice ocean views and sounds of the waves crashing.
Pool was nice, not sure how often it was cleaned, the hot tub was nice but not filtered enough as it did have a heavy sunscreen film.
No umbrellas available at the pool if you want shade.

NICE VACATION SUITE
Posted Mar. 25, 2024 on HomeAwayVery nice vacation suite, nicely stocked kitchen with many appliances to use. The patio opens up just outside pool/hot tub area. Love the location, just down the road from black sand beach. This was our second time staying in Colony 1, can't wait to come back again!

Although the property was good, I felt it needs air conditioning. There are 3 or 4 fans in the property but that's just not enough to keep the house cool. Also, the Wi-Fi network listed in the sign did not exist and the property manager did not respond to my query about connecting to the Wi-Fi network.

Fantastic Location in Punaluu Area
Posted May 5, 2023 on HomeAwayThis property is located in a perfect location. You get an ocean view, the pool and spa are a few steps away, and the Punaluu Black Sand Beach is less than a half-mile away. We found the property very relaxing. Just a few negatives: the bed could have been more comfortable, you could hear every movement from the neighbors upstairs, the drawer with the spoons/forks/knives wouldn't open all the way because it hit the stove. We stayed four nights, and enjoyed the vibe of the place.

Amazing Views of the Ocean!
Posted Feb. 19, 2023 on HomeAwayThis condo was a lucky find on our Big Island vacation. There are great views of palm trees and the ocean from the lanai. The pool and hot tub area was very nice with oceanfront views as well. 30 min to Volcano National Park and within walking distance to Black Sands Beach, with turtles. Cooler temps at night and awning windows that open to let in the nice ocean breeze made for great sleeping. Remote location is quiet and relaxing. With no restauarnts nearby, I would suggest providing more baking pans for the oven (pizza, chicken). It would also be nice to have better patio chairs since we spent a lot of time out there, and a broom to sweep up sand, etc. Overall, the place is awesome and we would definitely stay here again! Thanks so much!

Posted Dec. 24, 2022 on HomeAwayNice location for relaxing- nearby attractions have less people especially if you’re willing to walk a little. Unit is adequate- missing a few items if you’re into cooking- no grill tools, no baking pans. Lovely pool area and grounds. Comfortable beds, linens- newer small appliances. Overall great jumping off point for southern island adventures.
