Restaurant and store were closed during our stay, so we had to drive to another place to eat and there wasn’t anything close. Also they needed coffee pots in the room.

Fine print about check in closing time not obvious
Publié le 23 juin 2024 sur HotelsI didnt see the fine print if there was any, that there was no check in after 5:30pm, and we didnt have a place to stay that night in the middle of nowhere and ended up paying for a place we didnt get to stay in. Very disappointing.

Louis,I'm not sure How you can give our Lodge a 2 out of 10 when you never even checked in. We tried to contact you to no avail.

No one explaining how to check out
No coffee supplied
No one working the reception area
It did not feel like a legit business
The side of the building was covered with swallows posing a health hazard
Nothing to do and no amenities offered. Had to travel to a campsite to cook food

No heat and okay clean
Publié le 16 oct. 2023 sur HotelsWe came to stay one night. We did not know there was no heat and with the temperature in the 30s that was kind of a big deal. The room did have a space heater which was helpful and we had inadvertently brought some blankets which also helped but having that statement on the website should be standard especially for this time of year.
It was a cute place and fairly clean. No great sheets on the bed. Other people’s hair in my bed. Kind of gross. Bathroom was clean. It was okay. Just okay.

We are sorry to hear that the space heater did not heat your space well enough. All the rooms have extra blankets to help with cold nights, like the one you arrived on. I see you did arrive late in the evening, is to why you were meet with no one here. When the morning came, Kathrine greeted your husband, and he did not mention anything of the kind had happen. Usually when you go on vacation somewhere you look up the weather, and you did have free Wi-Fi available to you while you were here at are location. As to the hair in your bed that is an honest mistake, we are human beings. you and your two daughters and husband were in the remolded room, has two story room. beautiful scenic view, of all the mountains and beautiful giant cabins and pretty lake on the other side.

Self check in no staff fine. However, staff tried to gouge us with multiple add on charges not shown on Expedia “cash only”. Very confrontational which completely ruins a fun few days fishing trip. This was our third trip at this location this year. Currently they have lost their liquor license, closed a good restaurant, store is empty, owner-manager not present. Sadly we will no longer choose to stay here.

Very misleading description

It is listed as being in the town of Panguitch, which is convenient to two national parks. But it is *not* in Panguitch; it is at Panguitch Lake . . . 20 miles away. Not at all convenient.
Then, there's the staff. Their web site says they are at the desk until 7pm. Wrong. They closed at 5pm and would not answer the phone after that hour. They advertise free coffee in the lobby from 7am. Also wrong. The place was locked up tight when we left at around 8:30am. We never saw a single staff member! Nor any of those wonderful common areas in their pictures -- all locked up. If we had had a serious problem with our room we would have been out of luck.
As for the room itself, it was very, very basic. No microwave, no refrigerator. A huge, state of the art flatscreen TV -- but no cable! It could only play DVDs. Utterly useless. In terms of value we paid $150 for a room that was worth maybe $65, tops.
I would rate the Aspen Cove "Resort" unacceptable due to the unavailability of any staff. Had we had any sort of emergency we could have been in serious trouble. My advice: avoid this place.

We are sorry for your inconvenience. We are actually only 15 min from the town of Panguitch, if you look on any google maps, it clearly shows that we are on a lake that is very large with a general store right as you enter the lake. We are very short staffed as we are right at the end of the season. We, also have a mini fridge in the foyer along with games, puzzles and a large selection of dvds.
