Avis Stunning sea view Luxury Villa with Private Swimming Pool, 10min from Curu Park

Luxurious home situated in a location perfect for those looking for adventure or to just chill out. We did both! Carlos was extremely helpful and communicative. He signed us up for a couple very memorable tours that were super fun and within a 15 minute drive from the house. An easy 10 minute walk down to the secluded beach was always rewarded with sightings of monkeys and exotic birds…not to mention the warm calm surf of the beach itself. Check this place out for yourself if you have the chance. It’s worth it.

While this property has some nice features, to call it a “luxury” property is a misrepresentation. The reason we chose Carlos’ place over all the other properties was because of the numerous shining reviews. We thought if the reviews and pictures were that great, how could we go wrong? We hate to say it, but this property did not live up to the either. Despite its good qualities, we were overall disappointed with It and feel that the great reviews are not quite accurate. The current state of the house is quite run down. The linens and upholstered furniture photographed are not what are currently in the house. The upstairs couch was so old and soiled we had to put sheets over it to sit on it. Sheets are old and stained and coverlets are old ill-fitting blankets. Closet shelves are broken and just laying on the floor and cabinet doors are falling off the hinges. The outdoor furniture on the yoga deck was incredibly dirty and not well-maintained. The indoor screens to the balcony were slit and tattered. There were insect cocoons nestled in all the curtains (no curtains pictured in photos). The listing photos seem to have been taken a very long time ago. Also, we were alarmed with the amount of insects infesting the house. My wife and I live in San José and we have previously lived in Africa (we are no strangers to this climate and the accompanying insects). That being said, the house was crawling with all the insects of the jungle. When we arrived, there were ants swarming all over the kitchen counters and the fridge. They were in the beds and on the nightstands. The bathtub looks really nice on the listing photos, but in reality it was constantly covered in ants. We alerted Carlos right away and he said he was aware of the ant situation in the kitchen but the previous two occupants had not complained about it. He said we were welcome to have the house fumigated (not an option, as we have three young children) or to buy ant traps (we did but it didn’t help). Doors and window frames had huge gaps allowing passage for all sorts of insects. Despite the condition of the interior of the house, the view was not disappointing - it was spectacular. The pool was fantastic. Carlos was a wonderful help when it came to booking excursions. The bioluminescent kayak tour was fun and unique. The highlight was our children getting to help release baby turtles not once, but twice from the local beach. Curu preserve was also nice.

The title perhaps says it all... I wanted to provide a review for Carlos and his amazing service before we even started our vacation. His detailed information and patient guidance about ferry schedules, 4x4 rental, excursions, and COVID testing were very helpful. The home is exquisite and it has a million dollar view. We had wonderful visits from local animals (howler monkeys, sunbathing iguanas, and even a curious coatimundi!), frequent dips in the perfect pool, and the most beautiful sunrises and starlit skies at night. The kitchen was well equipped (including a water filter and ice maker in the fridge and a delightful juicer that inspired my next purchase at home)! The drive up is an adventure, and we are *very* thankful that Carlos insisted we rent a 4x4! We did a few of the excursions he recommended, including the bioluminescent kayak tour and Isla Tortuga with Bahia Rica - they were wonderful and memorable! We also had *great* ceviche and arroz con calamar at Liz/Macho's in Paquera, bought seafood at the restaurant on the right at Playa Organos, and ate lunch one day at the restaurant on the left with a view of the beach. We were looking for a peaceful, remote, nature-filled, and beautiful location for our family vacation with three young adult children and had such a great time that we did not want to leave. Thank you to Carlos and his team for a memorable experience and exceptional service! We have already recommended to all of our friends and WILL be back!

The property is amazing with a stunning view of Tortuga Island and the surrounding ocean. It is secluded but not far enough away from the small town of Paquera to make it difficult to get supplies or visit nearby restaurants/activities. Carlos goes all in with his guests by providing you all the contacts and information you need to stay super busy doing fun things if that is what you are after. He checks on you throughout the trip to make sure you have what you need and all your questions are answered. Not sure which is better....Carlos or the house, but both are pretty spectacular. Paquera while not a sprawling metropolis is charming in a special way. Very friendly people and you can find anything you need during your stay. I am a spoiled American who definitely takes for granted all we have here in the States that you live with daily and never take the time to notice. What Paquera lacks in riches it makes up for with the beautiful landscapes, the people and their culture. I certainly learned a few lessons about life during my short stay. Can't wait to go back.

Fantastic Carlos was wonderful and has become a close friend

This house is in the jungle! It is secluded! For us, it was perfect. We went on daily hikes (just down the driveway!) The house was just as advertised however the best part was the owner! He booked great excursions, recommended the best restaurants, the service was better than 5 star! And the onsite guy, Ivan!!!! OMG...I cant say enough about him - Amazing! Ivan doesnt speak english but we used google translate to talk and it worked just fine! We took 3 kids, ages 11, 9 and 2. They all had a great time! Walking up and down the driveway we saw monkeys and lizards and all kinds of bugs! It was really a jungle experience for the kids. A must was the refuge with Milton. He was a great tour guide and kept the attention of the 2 older kids. They ate fruit from trees, got to learn about all the animals, saw a wild bore, deer, monkeys....I mean we saw it all! All arranged by the owner, Carlos! Nothing negative to say!

If you’re considering this home, don’t hesitate! Not only do you get phenomenal views of the water and the mountains, but you’ll be sure to see monkeys and scarlet macaws as well! The longer we were there the more we fell in love with Pequera and all there was to offer! Carlos was an absolute blessing and arranged all of our trips and was SO helpful! We had surf lessons, went zip lining, had massages and a meal prepared in the home, we went charter fishing and on a bioluminescent kayak tour, the list goes on! We were an easy drive to Tambor, Montenzuma and Santa Teresa and checked out the areas and had a wonderful experience with Carlos giving suggestions. The only small thing would be to have the laundry area and some of the corners deep cleaned. But I am a total neat freak, so this may not be a big deal for others. We returned home today and already we miss Bellevue on Costa Rica.... Pura Vida is t just a saying, it’s truly their way of life! Thanks so much Carlos for helping us create a vacation of EPIC proportion!

We had high expectations heading to Costa Rica for the first time. From vehicle rental to the ferry ride it was all new to us, luckily Carlos was amazing and was always willing and eager to help. We arrived late at night and were greeted by an enthusiastic staff member who guided us up to the mountain side property. Although unable to see the view at the late hour, the home itself was enough of a view to keep us occupied and intrigued for the night. The house is such a grand and open concept it makes you feel comfortable, safe and relaxed. In the morning when the sun came up, our family was left speechless with the breath taking view from any window within the home and any corner from outside the home. The house really makes you feel connected to nature, from the sounds of animals in the jungle just feet away to the ocean crashing into the shore that can be watched all day long. All rooms are beautifully furnished and had all the amenities we needed, whatever we did not have Carlos had staff promptly deliver said item. Groceries were also easy and enjoyable to obtain, the town of Paquera was a short drive through the jungle away and the people there are amazingly friendly...not to mention they have some of the best fresh fruits and seafood I’ve had the pleasure of tasting! The beach is an even shorter drive away where the ocean water is refreshing and calmingly warm and the waves are sure to excite! Throughout our trip to paradise we had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with Ivan, Milton, Thomas, (another) Carlos, Louis and many many more friendly , knowledgeable and amazing staff. Each one of them made our family get away all the more special and memorable. From jungle waterfalls, surfing and learning about jungle wildlife to waking up to the sunrise beaming through the beautiful big bedroom windows and while hearing the waves crashing, we really have nothing but great things to say about Carlos and his beautiful property. I also forgot to mention the pool on the property that gets a perfect amount of sun and shade throughout the day to cool off from the hot sun! I’m sure that when you stay at this heaven on earth property you will not be disappointed!

We got married on the beach and spent our honeymoon in Costa Rica. Carlos was a wonderful host. He made sure we had everything at our fingertips that we wanted. He had Alex meet us in town and show us how to get to the villa. Carlos had fresh fruit, wine and beer in the refrigerator waiting for us. If we needed anything Carlos would send someone to meet our needs or wants. We had his chef come into our home the day of the wedding to make us a Costa Rican gourmet dinner. It was amazing! The kitchen is stocked with any appliances you might need. Carlos arranged for a water taxi for us to go to a romantic moon lit dinner on an island. 💕 The view from the home is spectacular!! We loved that the area was not to heavily busy with tourists when we went. We sat out on the decks in the morning and evenings and saw many different birds and howler monkeys in the trees around the home. This is by far the best VRBO home I have stayed in. Make sure you get a 4 wheel drive vehicle and leave plenty of time for travel We can not wait to go back. Thank you Carlos for sharing your home with us. . Pura Vida!!!
