This is an exceptional property set in a beautiful rural location with exquisite views over landscaped gardens. It is so peaceful that you feel as though you’re miles from anywhere when you’re actually only 2km (a lovely walk!) from the town boundary. The cottage is incredibly well set up with everything you might need and Shona and Tony are fantastic hosts - friendly and helpful, and on hand if you need anything. We booked the cottage at short notice for a quick retreat after a busy week, and we only had two days free, but we would definitely have stayed longer otherwise. The memory of sitting on the lovely wide deck, soaking up the view, breathing in the country air, inhaling the fragrance of the garden and listening to the birdsong (I forgot to mention the host of NZ native birds that grace the gardens!) will sustain us for a long time…and we’ll be back!

For my time in New Zealand this property is by far the best of all
It was a beautiful clean and well looked after property
I would recommend this property to anyone to stay

It was very pleasant accommodation. The host was so good and friendly. She even offered us dinner and was very good in communicating about a party next door. Its a beautiful location and perfect getaway from city hustle.we will come back.

Fabulous accommodation. Can't wait to stay again next time for longer. As well as amazing accommodation the grounds were so pretty to stroll around. Shona and her husband were so welcoming.

Amazing place to stay! Peaceful and private in beautiful surrounds. Great amenities and so many well stocked extras. Highly recommend especially if you’re looking for a little escape away.

Awful. Extremely rude check-in where the lady lectured me about electricity. Then no wifi. Plus it's on the middle of nowhere out of cell phone coverage. One of the worst hotel stays I've ever had.

This guy is totally nuts! I had both heaters on for him and with double glazing it would have heated up an hour after his 2 hour earlier than normal checkin! There was a problem with the wifi but we went to fix within half an hour but this guy just wanted something to complain about so I said if he wasn't happy I would be happy to refund his money so he didn't even stay. There is no way I was rude, he was in a very distressed state when he arrived and he was determined to be unhappy about everything. As far as the heaters were concerned I told him to leave the oil filled heater on all night but not the fan heater - hardly lecturing about electricity!
