Stunning House with direct beach access

Mahogany Pod is a three bedroom townhouse located by Paynes Bay on the fashionable West Coast of Barbados. The property has the unusual benefit of stunning sea views to all the bedrooms and living areas. The sandy beach is accessed from your own gate at the bottom of the garden and offers great snorkeling on your doorstep. The house has been furnished in the style of a family home as opposed to a holiday let and the piece d'resistance is the spacious penthouse master bedroom that includes a sitting area with large flat screen TV, Mini fridge, full length balcony, walk in closet and large bathroom featuring his and hers vanities, bath and shower. Bedrooms 1 and 2 both feature walk in closets, en-suite shower rooms, and french doors leading out onto the balcony with comfy wooden furniture. All bedrooms have a safe, ceiling fans and air conditioning. All bathrooms have hairdryers and little touches such as scented candles, soaps, shower gels and body lotions are provided to enhance your stay. A spacious kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, hob, microwave, large fridge freezer with ice maker, dishwasher and washer dryer as well as an extensive selection of crockery, glasses and cutlery. The lounge has a flat screen satellite TV featuring all the UK & Sky channels as well as Netflix etc and a DVD player. Both the lounge and dining areas have ceiling fans and bi-fold french doors that open the room up to an outside covered veranda with sofas, wet bar and mini fridge, and a large gas BBQ. The plunge pool is the perfect way to cool off after soaking up the sun. Mahogany Pod has WiFi throughout.

Mahogany Pod is only a five minute walk to the infamous Cliff restaurant and all of the west coast restaurants are within a ten - 15 minute bus or taxi ride away. Tide dependant you can walk along the beach to the Sandy Lane hotel.

The owners have been coming to Barbados for many years and will be happy to help with bookings at the islands vast array of restaurants and arrange water-sports such as water-skiing, wake boarding etc to pick you up from the bottom of the garden. The bus to Holetown (restaurants, cinema, shops and supermarket) and Bridgetown stops a few meters from the house.
Included in your stay is a welcome grocery pack, housekeeper 5 mornings a week and night watchman every evening from 6pm - 6am. We can arrange a cook, children's nanny/babysitting, baby equipment hire and airport transfers for you - nothing is too much trouble!

Beach Paradise
My wife and I are just back from at week at Mahogany Pod. It sits directly on Paynes Bay with steps down to a beautiful beach. The house is immaculate and beautifully furnished. It has every amenity you could wish for. We had a fabulous week there cooking fresh fish on the BBQ from the local fish market (150 yds along the beach and ate at some of our favourite restaurants all a very short distance away. Emma the owner and the local management team were a joy to deal with and I couldn’t recommend the property high enough.

Our vacation started off poorly with missed connections and arrival delays but we stayed in constant contact with Emma and she ensured that members of our party were greeted when we arrived. The house was beautifully appointed and had everything we required for a lovely stay. Ryan, the house manager was attentive and arrived quickly when we locked ourselves out of the safe in our room. We couldn't have been more pleased with the house and the staff, and Barbados as a whole. Our group plans to return

BEWARE!!!
Before our arrival, Emma was helpful and accommodating. However we chose this property and paid a premium price for the holiday season due to the listing she posted. The listing stated the home had air conditioning. But it did not clarify that it was only available in the bedrooms!!! None of the living areas such as the living room, dining area, kitchen, or the en suite bathrooms had air!!! The master bathroom was so hot we avoided using it. When i addressed this with Emma the owner, her response was to change the ad, which was very deceptive, and did not change our horrible experience. Additionally the house lacks window screens, and with out air you are required to leave the shutters open for air flow, which invited bugs! The house manager Ryan admitted he knew this was an issue, and just had the house fumigated prior to our arrival. Despite the fumigation a roach walked right by my husband and Ryan when we entered. Next, The kitchen cabinets, and other cabinets reeked of mildew, which transferred into the silverware and dishes. We had to wash everything and leave out on the countertops throughout our stay. Tamica the house keeper even acknowledged this odor. While the property is beach front, beware the beach is not useable. You must walk to the beach next door to the property which is backed by loud traffic, not relaxing.In closing BEWARE! We we so disgusted and upset over our stay and would not recommend it to anyone else unless you love sweating.

Incredible location! Impeccable house!
We loved our stay in this beautiful home! The location is fabulous with direct beach access and close to great restaurants. It has a well-appointed kitchen with 3 ways to make coffee:-) We appreciated the delicious banana bread and other treats. No day was complete without a dip in the plunge pool - very refreshing on a hot day! The bedrooms feature private bathrooms (awesome water pressure!) and balconies where we enjoyed the morning light, hummingbirds and coffee. The sunsets were spectacular! There is a nice yard with a grill and dining table. Also, sun loungers. We appreciated the fantastic list of recommended restaurants and the recommendation to take a catamaran cruise - we went with Silver Moon and it was a fabulous experience! I would be so happy to return to Barbados and this house!

Excellent Birthday Celebration
My family and I stayed here for my birthday. The host was extremely helpful, even before we arrived. She helped with transportation, that we used the entire week. She set us up with the chef, who was amazing! And she provided recommendations on places to go on the island. The accommodations were just as advertised, and we loved that each bedroom had an en suite and balcony. Everyone was comfortable had their own space. The easy access to the beach was just icing on the cake! Thank you Emma.

How relaxed can one be!
Wonderful property right on the beach which feels like your own slice of paradise. Local buses right outside the front of the property to transport you anywhere along the coast. Villa exceptionally maintained and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful home from home decor throughout.

My friends and I reserved “Mahogany Pod” for our annual Girl’s Trip. Emma’s home was beautiful with all the comforts required for an enjoyable and relaxing vacation. It was very obvious that the owner has taken a great deal of pride in adding special touches in the decor throughout the home. The staple food items and homemade banana bread she provided was a thoughtful special touch. We especially appreciated Emma and the manager’s assistance with airport transfers, a chef and recommending the best masseur on the island. Wonderful Stay
Mahogany Pod was perfect for our family! The location is great, with easy access to the bus into Hole Town and a short walk to QP Bistro and The Cliff. The property is clean, private and well stocked with dishes and everything you would need should you want to eat in. Emma was an amazing host, with timely communication and she made our arrival to Mahogany Pod easy, comfortable and welcoming. Tamica was warm and friendly, I will miss her. The house is absolutely gorgeous, even better than the photos. It has a calming and relaxing vibe and is tastefully furnished. Plenty of space and equipped with everything you need. Mahogany Pod is a beautiful property with stunning architecture. The house was very clean and well stocked. The views from every bedroom are stunning! Each room has its own full bathroom and dressing room. The fish market next door is convenient and inexpensive. We went to the upscale restaurants in the area and they were all lovely, but the fresh fish on the grill was certainly a treat. The beach in front of the property is great for snorkeling. If you walk on the beach to the right of the property, you will walk past many hotels. All the beaches are public, so you can utilize these areas to lay out or find swimming areas. The water comes up to the house at high tide and the sound of the ocean is wonderful to hear slapping against the sea wall. Suggestions: Go to Clifton Market in the Limegrove shopping area rather than Massys for food shopping. They have meats and foods that are closer to the comforts of home. They also had lots of gluten free/allergy options. The house is on a busy street. The sound of the street is loud. You can hear it throughout the house, but not when you are on the beach. The resorts are also on this road, so if the noise will bother you, Paynes Bay may not be the area for you. Our vacation was lovely! We very much enjoyed having the plunge pool!! We miss Barbados and the warm weather! Thank you Mahogany Pod for wonderful memories! 💛🇧🇧

A Little Piece of Paradise
Our stay here was remarkable. Being able to hear and see the ocean was so relaxing. We loved being able to walk right onto the beach, snorkel, go for a swim and come back with a rum punch from the fish market. Great location with easy access to a lot of places. Tamika and Emma were extremely helpful and be sure to say hi to Carl, the gardener. We hope to be back next year!

We stayed at Emma & Rays home at Mahogany Bay for our 40th anniversary and it couldn’t have be more wonderful!!! The house and grounds were beautiful. The location was perfect!!! Emma also had supplied us with the necessities for a few days with milk, eggs, bread, coffee and not to forget the amazing chocolate banana bread!!! The perfect home and location for our family vacation. Mahogny Pod has everything you need to enjoy Paradise. The beach is great for snorkeling or lazing in the ocean on a float. lovely property and setting ,bordering the sea , with all the sounds and sense of nature this brings to visitors . comfortable and understated , easy to feel at home . Fabulous stay at Mahogany Pod
Superb house, just as stunning as the photos! The accommodation was beautiful, to a very high standard and well maintained. The evening sunsets from the G&T balconies were fabulous! It was great to walk through the garden straight onto the beach - for a walk, swim or to buy fresh fish next door. The team at the house (property manager, house keeper, groundsmen) were really helpful. Thank you to Emma for making our holiday so memorable, her communication was outstanding. Amazing, amazing, and some more amazing!! Mahogany Pod was exceptional from A to Z. My family enjoyed every moment of our stay! The property was everything we hoped for and SO much more! The staff helped us with every single detail, and question. They took care of all of us, from 8 to 75 years old. The inside and outside of the property is clean and beautiful. Location, location and location! Everything thing was minutes away walking, bus, and taxi. Most importantly I could watch my three children from the deck playing on the beach and swimming in the ocean. Not only will we be back but for a longer stay! Pure perfection in ALL aspects of this property and the amazing people that make it wonderful. Thank you

Beautiful Setting
The villa exceeded all of our expectations for our firs-time trip to Barbados. The views were amazing, the villa was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a fantastic vacation.
