Beautiful city, nice walking, room was exceptional, dining room was exceptional and food was great!

Poor welcome

Despite being told on 4 days earlier that our 3 rooms would be prioritised by Housekeeping so that we could check-in at 1pm instead of 4pm, there was no record and the receptionist doubted what I was saying. She then announced that there was a charge of £10 per room if we were allowed early access. I then received a phone call an hour later to say that we could indeed gain early access with no additional charge. Too late I’m afraid and a poor start.

I apologise for the lack of communication in relation to the early check-in request, this was poorly managed and handled. The reception staff were extremely friendly helpful and considerate. They supplied local information and made special arrangements

Overnight as a couple. Dinner bed and breakfast £185. Check in was good apart from parking. Sorted in the end. Room looked lovely and had a smashing view that you could see when lying in bed. Room itself was very very hot, we had a fan on all night, which was in the cupboard, so someone else must have complained about it. Shower and bath. Dinner was lovely. Steak cooked to perfection. Again breakfast was smashing although we had booked for 9am and arrived at 5 past to be told we were late and should have been there at 8.45.
Would stay again.
