Our local Trattoria's offer superb home cooked food at very reasonable prices, in summer we have many Festas' taking place in the surrounding Villages.

In high summer it offers welcome cooling breezes. The bedrooms offer ample space and storage. Downstairs the kitchen seats 8 and is new and fully equipped. The living room has a Flat screen TV if you need to catch up on news or play some discs, it has comfortable seating and a log fire if the evenings turn a little chilly. It also has a large dining table and plenty of games for evenings indoors.
For the Astronomer – fantastic conditions for observing the stars, and spectacular shooting stars in October, we have actually got 2 telescopes in the house on the 1st floor.
For the Gastronome – world famous cheeses, salamis and pastas. Visit the Diego at the local Winery and sample the superb Prosecco, and range of white & red wines.
We of course have some wonderful local Trattoria’s nearby,
which have acquired awards in the past year. I will give you the names at a later date, they produce all of their own food and source local produce.
For culture – visit the birth place of Verdi and attend an Opera in Parma, Vigoleno or Salsomaggiore. Throughout the year many of the local towns and villages host a festival where you can sample the "Traditional Cibo" (food)
For history lovers – visit the Roman settlement of Velleia, the castles of Gropparello, Bardi, Castell’Arquato or the delightful medieval village of Grazzano Visconti.
For the geologist – fossils in Rio Rosello and learn about the disused oil-fields at Montechino.
For the ornithologist – a wide range of birdlife.
For walkers – local circuits or access to the higher Apennine ranges with possible sightings of hare, wild boar, fox or birds of prey.
For the sports person – Golf, swimming and horse-riding.
For the fisherman – Try catching giant Eels AND catfish in the River Po.

The house is constructed of stone ideal for keeping cool in summer but easier to heat in Winter. For summers that may be extreme we have an air conditioning system for the bedrooms.
Outside we have a new Gazebo which gives protection from the intense sun, whilst eating or relaxing.
Each day there is a different Castle to visit as we are close to the medieval castles of Castell' Arquato, Castel Nuovo, Vigoleneo, Bardi.;
Visit Giuseppe Verdi's birthplace, theatre and museum at Busetto - catch some local opera to go with the local food and hospitality.
For anyone who is interested in Astronomy we have a large Telescope, the house is in an ideal location with little light pollution for following the stars and Constellations.

Nearby the famous Spa Town of Salsomagiore where you can experience a range of therapeutic massages.
Among the rolling hills surrounding Salsomaggiore, it is worth visiting the Castello di Scipione (3 km), the ancient Manor of the medieval Pallavicino family who were tasked with protecting the area’s many salt wells.
Of great interest near the town are two splendid examples of Romanesque art built between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, the Romanesque church of St. Nicomedes in the village of the same name (about 5 km from the centre) and the Romanesque church of San Giovanni in Contignaco (2.5 km).
