Avis PA Wilds Mtn Cabin, 8 pvt acres in state forest, near Elk Herd & 2 State Parks

As a host, I take guest feedback seriously and strive to address concerns promptly. I was as astonished to discover that a kayak, river and birch trees were listed as amenities in my VRBO listing as the guest was disappointed to find them missing. I believe VRBO utilized AI to edit the listing and add amenities without notifying or consulting me as to accuracy. The cabin has been listed on VRBO since 2009 and in 15 years nothing like this has ever happened before. I have removed the inaccurate items and will continue to check the listing for accuracy. I was informed of the missing amenities and the other issues only after the guest had checked out, which limited my ability to remedy them promptly. The TV has been replaced. We are installing Starlink for internet access this month which has recently become available in this area. I have no control over the condition of neighboring yards. However, I want to clarify that the house mentioned is located 2/10ths of a mile away and neither it or any other buildings can be seen from the cabin property. It is unfortunate that no enjoyment was found in the cabin itself, the homemade breads, the forested setting, two state parks within 2 miles of the cabin (with streams, rivers, beach, kayaks & canoes), the scenic elk by-way, and other attractions of the PA Wilds. Had a refund been requested for the missing amenities, I would have responded positively. VRBO is unwilling to refund their service fee and commission on the nightly rate but I have refunded to the guest the amount I received for one night of their stay as compensation. I genuinely care about my guests’ experiences and regret that my immediate response was interpreted as dismissive.

Dear Jessica - Wow...what a nice review which detailed some of what guests staying at Cedarwood Lodge can expect. As for the baked goods, I have a bed & breakfast in Clearfield, and always put in a small loaf of homemade bread and whatever sweet baked item (pumpkin chocolate chip muffins or blueberry or cranberry-orange coffee cake, banana or zucchini bread, etc) is on the menu there for cabin guests to help with their first morning's breakfast. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'm happy you found this getaway to be one of your "best rental vacations" as we strive to provide a great experience for all our guests.
