Once unpack the owner , Terry , arrived to great us and make sure very thing was ok. Very friendly and helpful owner.
The house has beach front views and is very roomy with everything we needed for our 4 night stay.
It is a 5 minute walk to the shops which has an IGA , bakery, coffeehouse, information shop ,several restaurants and a pub.
We had a meal at the pub , great atmosphere and food.
Penguin is a great location for day trips to Stanley and the north west part of Tasmania.
It is a 30 minute drive to Devonport to catch the Spirit of Tasmania.
The owner ,Terry , made our last 4 days in Tasmania perfect with not only his charming house but also his friendly nature.
Will be coming back to stay at “ sunrise at penguin “ again

Perfect coastal home

Beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything needed for a night, a week or a month's visit...we could've stayed forever. We loved sitting on the front porch looking at the spectacular view Bass Strait
We took a short and scenic walk into the town where we ate at Penguin Beer. The next day we had coffee and lunch in town and explored the shops. Our host Terry was so kind and helpful. Our only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer here. One of the nicest places we've stayed through VRBO throughout the world.

Everything about this accommodation was top notch, the decor, the quantity linen, the extra touches, the fantastic view, the comfy bed & super friendly host. I will definitely have this one in my fav list & hope i get another chance to stay here again. It's a great location if your catching the boat at Deavonport.

Gorgeous house in a beautiful location, with outstanding hosts
Publié le 12 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayI cannot speak too highly of Sunrise at Penguin. Right from day 1 when I booked the property, Terry was so helpful and sent great information about the locality. He maintained good communication in the weeks ahead of our arrival, and was available if we needed him to attend to anything once we were in the house. Not that he needed to do much - when we arrived, the house was prepared with everything we needed, and far more than we expected. There is no scrimping on quality at Sunrise at Penguin: the furniture was very comfortable; the kitchen well-stocked; and the cooking equipment of excellent standard. The laundry, too, was well-equipped. The decor was just delightful, with quirky penguins fashioned creatively from various materials placed around the house, which added to the beautiful seaside atmosphere, along with the tasteful paintings. There were even fresh flowers in the lounge, and fruit left for us in the kitchen. The view was just incredible, and the beach is literally over the road. We did not want to leave: Sunrise at Penguin is definitely a place we will return to when we can get back to Tasmania.

Jayne and her friend were a delight to have as guests at Sunrise at Penguin coming all the way from Brisbane - their 3 night stay was taken up visiting Cradle Mountain plus walks on the beach out the front and in Penguin's hinterland. Being very friendly and leaving the house spotless was appreciated and are welcome back anytime.

The house is very comfortable, has everything you need and more, and the views are just stunning. Short stroll to the shops, cafe, restaurant etc. We will be back!

Great to have Janet and Roy as our guests at Sunrise at Penguin - after travelling from Melbourne they visited Cradle Mountain, Stanley and the 3 Capes walk in Southern Tasmania plus the seaside town of Penguin. Leaving the house as neat as they found it was appreciated and are welcome back anytime.

Fantastic getaway

It is very comfortable and has everything you need. Terry has put alot of thought into making your stay enjoyable. It is a short walk to restaurants. I highly recommend Terry’s house.

Little Gem in Penguin TAS

View from the lounge room was 2nd to none. Bed was comfy, very comfortable house to stay. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Gail and her daughter Belinda were a pleasure to meet, staying for 5 nights so as to see as much as possible of the NW Coast before returning via the Spirit boat to Melbourne and Canberra. One of their major highlights was seeing a platypus in the wild at FernGlade near Burnie. Being particularly tidy in the house was appreciated and are welcome back anytime.
