Publié le 7 juill. 2017 sur HotelsDifficile de trouver ce logement, perdu au bout d'une route en lacets dangeureuse, mal signalé. Le check-ing prévu entre 16h et 19h n'a été possible qu'après 17h. La vue panoramique depuis la chambre se limite à une fenêtre. Petit déjeuner convenable mais sans plus. Pas de climatisation.

Beautiful hotel with lake view, though you have to drive up the narrow winding road to the property.

Dear Customer,
We do not usually provide answers to specific questions in a customer review, however in this case we are forced to change our policy in order to defend our accommodation.
As you are aware, we attempted to explain to you numerous times that we did not charge your credit card two times. We explained this both to you privately and also to Expedia Staff, attaching the receipt and the reservation from Hotels.com, where it is clearly specified that the “Hotel Collects Payment”. At this point, once again, we suggest that you check your bank statement to confirm that you had not paid in advance.
Along with the accommodation fee, you also must pay a “tourist tax” which is not something controlled or set by us, but it enforced by the local municipality and is law (as is common in many countries).
Unfortunately we do not provide a restaurant service, however we have never advertised that we do have this service or service dinner. The closest restaurant is a 5 minute walk, and is open 6 days a week, only closing every Wednesday (which we acknowledge was the day of your arrival).
Regarding the time of arrival and reception access, as many of our customers can testify, we are extremely flexible. We recently introduced a restriction after 7pm however even then we always try our best to accommodate our guests.
For the comment about the difficult access of our location, we cannot deny that the road is not simple, but to quote Zig Ziglar, "Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations".

Nice hotel with beautiful views

Pour : good size room and bath. 300 year old building with modern additions. Old world charm with modern amenities.
Nice quiet hotel with nice grounds and easy gated parking. Beautiful views from the tiny balcony. Modern bathroom with heated floor. Nice breakfast buffet. Very quiet when we stayed in late September. Lovely restaurant il Caminetto just a two minute walk up the street.

P rice is too expensive.Almost no service.
We cancelled the one night. I recommend you not to stay.

Fantastisk utsikt
Publié le 18 juill. 2017 sur HotelsStort men ganska enkelt rum. Rent ocg fräscht. Fantastisk utsikt över sjön och bergen. Vi var ensamma på hotellet första natten. Trevlig personal som var mycket hjälpsamma. Lite svårt att hitta om man inte har navigator.

Man ska veta att det är en rejäl backe för att ta sig upp till hotellet och att det inte finns någon restaurang i närheten, men det vara bara en skön urladdning efter varje tur när vi tränat klart.

Everything great but location too far from town

Pour : Gorgeous setting and beautiful views. Spacious well appointed room. Staff was fabulous when they were around.
Contre : A bit more attention to the possibilities of the breakfast buffet.
Emplacement : Nearby was nothing, only the views. You had to walk down or take a taxi or drive to Varenna.
Only after arriving did we find out that we needed to have a car to be there. I couldn't agree more. 45 minutes to walk down to Varenna and always had to take taxi to return.
The fact that there was no one there between 5 PM and 11 AM was disconcerting. It has only three rooms rented out and when we were there only two were occupied, ours and one other couple.
Breakfast buffet is laid out the day before so it doesn't contain fresh items.

Great views of Lake Como
Publié le 22 sept. 2015 sur ExpediaGreat hotel located up the hill. Great restaurant just a short walk up the road in Gittana. Because of the narrow winding road to the lake we took a cab recommend by the hotel to get back & forth to town & the ferry. Good breakfast & hotel staff were extremely accomodating about our flight being very delayed.
