Good morning Richard, We have guests from all walks of life, ages, regions staying with us at The Indian Ocean Hotel, some for business, some for quiet a family "stay-cation", and sometimes a younger crowd looking to let loose a bit. Of course everyone's has there own way of relaxing or unwinding, but we try to mitigate excessive noise or disruptive behaviour the best we can so that all guests may have a pleasant experience. We definitely do not market ourselves as a "party hotel for young people", but our on-site bar is popular and does have regular gigs/ live music on certain nights of the week. We do make this clear in our Terms & Conditions and on our website. We also try to ensure that guests who prefer or enjoy these kind of events are situated on the ground or second floor where it is closer to the action and the music can be more audible, while trying to place guests that are looking for more peace and quiet on one of the higher floors so they are less likely to be disturbed. We do sincerely apologise if any of the photos online of our hotel and bar were misleading in any way. We are definitely a retro and a bit "rough around the edges" place, striving to maintain that vintage charm while also modernising where possible or needed. We are currently in the process of making some renovations around the grounds, but these things do take time. With regard to booking, it is always best to book directly through us on our IOH website to ensure you are getting the best available rate while receiving some perks for your stay as well. This way if there are any issues or if you are hoping to extend your booking with us as many do, it is much easier and less costly or time consuming to do so. We appreciate the constructive feedback and you taking the time to make us aware of some of your concerns, as we are always looking for ways to improve. Hi Daniel, Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We do let our guests know at check-in that our hotel is slightly different than most, in that most amenities are kept at Reception or can be requested from Housekeeping. This is also explained in our brochure. Extra towels, towels for the pool, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers, dental kits, umbrellas, iron and ironing board, etc are all kept at Reception. We also offer microwaves and toasters by request. We also have 24 hour Reception, so one of our friendly staff would have been happy to provide you with anything you may have needed during your stay with us. Sincere apologies if any of this was not made clear upon check-in, however, as we have had some new staff join our team recently. We are also currently in the process of making upgrades to the various aspects of the hotel and bar while still maintaining the retro, vintage charm. HI Therese, We do openly advertise on all our channels that we are situated next to a live music venue, as to make people aware before they book, should noise be an issue. I suggest booking on the south side of the hotel for your next stay to avoid the noise. IOH Management

Of course the weekends do bring some more boisterous behaviour, but we do our best to try to minimise unnecessary or excessive noise to try to ensure that everyone can hopefully enjoy a peaceful stay.
