Mid-Century Cottage with Crooked Lake Views - Quick Trips to Northern Michigan's Favorite Local Spots!

ABOUT THE RENTAL
Enter into this charming cottage from the wraparound porch through original wood double doors. Find yourself in a cozy space with a new mid-century feel. The main level entertaining area is very spacious with a large sectional couch to fall into while enjoying the gas fireplace, music over the record player, and a few drinks with friends and family. On the opposite side of the living area is a ten-person dining room table paired with floor to ceiling original glass doors, perfect for making memories and good conversations. The full kitchen is on the back of the home with new appliances and is connected to the laundry/mudroom area leading out to the expansive fenced-in backyard. This home has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms (3 full, 4 half) giving plenty of space to let your group spread out. Bedroom one is located on the main level with a full bath attached. There is second half bath connected to the dining room to service the rest of the main level as well. Taking the staircase to the upstairs brings you to four more bedrooms and five bathrooms – all of which at least have a half bath setup in each room creating more privacy for each guest. Each bedroom has a window A/C unit, as well as a ceiling fan. The North Western State Trail is one block away, which connects to the Little Traverse Wheelway, giving you miles and miles of asphalt trails for biking and running/walking. Located across the street from Crooked Lake and near many Northern Michigan destinations, this home is sure to be a family favorite!

Charming Mid-Century Cottage

Oden Home is a charming Mid-Century Cottage. It was incredibly clean which we so appreciate with children!!! It is the perfect home for several families/friends. Five bedrooms with seven bathrooms. Each bedroom had its own bathroom that provided each family their own privacy. The living and dining rooms were spacious with a dining table that was large enough for ten individuals. The kitchen had so many amenities. The hosts were fabulous and provided a guide that was detailed with great information about the cottage and surrounding area. We greatly appreciated how responsive they were to our questions. We will definitely reserve Oden House for our next family trip up north.

Wonderful family getaway location

This house was wonderful for our family of 8 adults and a toddler! There were many spaces where we could spread out or all be together. The property managers were very attentive, both before and during our stay. They provided a few items that we asked about before we arrived, and the house was stocked with plenty of essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, and laundry detergent. The location was close to lots of nature preserves, wineries, breweries, and if it had been warmer, water sports. Also, it was only 30 minutes to the Mackinac Island ferry. Two of our party were working remotely and the wifi worked well for them. It was an amazing experience and I would definitely stay here again!

Holiday Vacation

We stayed at the property this past week. As the other reviews noted, the road noise is a bit loud when sleeping, but as we were aware prior to the trip, we were able to prepare. The house was very clean and offered great space. The online description of the house was spot on. We will definitely book this property again.

Reunion

For ~25 years 4 couples got together for a long ski weekend in Northern MI. After many years apart we came together from as far away as Washington to enjoy a 4 day reunion. We had a wonderful time, the house fit our needs well, and it was very close to many of the places where we had built memories together.

Great house for bedrooms and private bathrooms!! Absolutely a rare find if this is important. We were disappointed in the over cleanliness of the exterior of the property. We did not know how busy Rt 31 is and hearing the traffic continually was more than we expected, but this is not the listing fault. The Kitchen lacked in many areas, not quite updated as the listing stated. Overall had a dirty unorganized feel to it. There was not even enough glasses for our 6 guest. We had to use coffee cups to drink wine or cocktails. The bathrooms did not all have body soap or shampoo, had to go out an buy some. This is really a mixed review, we loved many aspects of this house but disappointed in many too. This property has SOO much more potential with a little bit more eye to details.

Sisterhood Trip

My three sisters and I booked this beautiful house for a long weekend. We were each able to have our own bedroom and bathroom which was great! The house was clean and welcoming with everything we needed for our stay. Beds were very comfortable, the wraparound porch was so nice, and the location was great for trips into Petosky and Mackinac City. The home is located right on US 31 and there is some traffic noise, but that didn't bother us at all. We would highly recommend this home for anyone with a larger group. Thank you!!

What a wonderful stay! If you are looking book now. This place looks just like the pictures and has so much space for everyone to spread out. There were 6 people staying for a week and felt like home right away. Location is perfect to downtown Petoskey. Communication with the property manager was wonderful. Made our trip an absolute pleasure. We are already trying to figure out summer plans at this location.

New years perfection

Our yearly new years get away was supported by the Oden house. 15 minute dive to Nubs and Highlands, plenty of space for two families, and enough couch space for everyone to relax after a long day. Great spot to support a skiing vacation or visiting downtown Petoskey.

North Woods Charm

This Mid-Century Cottage is just that, Mid-Century, with modern amenities added. As a child my family of 9 spent two weeks every summer in Sister-Lakes MI. in cottages like this one, where my aunt lived. It was fabulous. This reminded me of that. This is a great place to relax and recharge after spending all day exploring North Michigan and all it has to offer! Would stay here again!

Great Space

Perfect place for a girls weekend! My group of 5 had the luxury of their own bedroom and bathroom space to retreat to when needed. The dining room and living room had plenty of room to hang out. Lake view right across the street! This property is right on US31, so there is traffic noise, but it would not stop us from renting this proerty again!

Crooked House on Crooked Lake

Overall we had a great time. The house is very charming. Old w great quirkiness. Great central location. We visited Petoskey, Charlevoix, Harbor Springs, Indian River and Mackinaw Island. We had 2 minor problems (no water due to well pump circuit breaker trip) and smoke alarm battery. Both problems were handled very quickly and satisfactorily. Thank you Danielle. Kitchen has everything needed, laundry availability is a plus. Bedroom on first floor is also a plus. Beds were comfortable. There is a nice fire pit surrounded by chairs and wood was provided. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we were so busy we didn’t get a chance to use it. The downsides were the carpeting in the bedrooms. They were all quite stained. The front porch furniture was uncomfortable(except for the rocking chair).Replacing with all rocking chairs would be great. The couch in the living area is very very low to the ground. We used the chairs from the dining area to watch tv instead of the couch. The outside porches and windows could use a good cleaning. Overall we liked the house a lot. Just a few updates/ cleaning would make it wonderful.

Great location! Spacious & comfortable

We had a terrific time! The home is in a great location and the bedroom/bathroom set up is ideal! Beds are extremely comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The rental process was easy and management was responsive. We would stay again!

Amazing location and cozy vibe

We loved this getaway spot for a week-long family vacation. We wanted a place that was in close proximity to great places up North and this place was it! A definite highlight was the view of the lake across the street and the amazing bike trail behind the house. We also loved the yard and spent a lot of time relaxing out there. Like other reviewers noted, it is on a busy road but the noise wasn’t bad and became white noise. The one thing that was a little unfortunate was the inconsistency with cleanliness. There were some things that you can tell were cleaned from the last visitors but we found random trash under beds and couches and parts of the home were not vacuumed as well as we were expecting. Otherwise, we loved it and would stay again!
