Publié le 23 mars 2017 sur HotelsNous avons fait une étape d'une nuit (a l'aller et au retour) dans ce charmant Guesthouse, où nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement.
Petits bungalows répartis dans un beau jardin....tout le confort, très bien entretenu, petits déjeuners "livrés" le matin sur la terrasse.
Une voiture est nécessaire pour se rendre au centre ville et environs de Pietermaritzburg......à découvrir et y revenir ....

Room was not rwady at 14:00

It was not cleaned yet and we had to get ready for a wedding!!
We had to wait till 14:50 till they were done cleaning and had to be atvthe wedsing T 16:00.
We had to do our make up outside in the heat and was sweating because they were busy and we could not so it in the room with the aircon on.
I had to rush doing my and my daughters hair.
We were not impressed at all!

We really need to apologize profusely with regard to your room not being ready at check in. While excuses are by no means a way to repair damage to ones reputation for service excellence (or lack of it) in this instance our staff were hard pressed at the time of your arrival to get all our accommodation ready, as the previous night all 8 of our cottages were fully occupied, and most of our guests checked out late, leaving us hard pressed to ready your cottage on time. However we trust that you had an enjoyable stay with us. Regards from the team at Lincoln Cottages.

Thank you to Ken & Monica the owners of Lincoln Cottages for the excellent service. They went out of their way to make sure our stay at their Cottage was a pleasant one. We arrived very late the evening and it was my sons birthday the next day and I forgot to get candles for his cake and I phoned them and ask is there any shop that is still open, so that I can go and buy candles. They said I need not to worry and about getting candles, they will supply me with candles the next morning with our breakfast – and so they did. Only then I found out that they went and bought the candles for us that evening – and it was late already. I’ll recommend the Lincoln Cottages to everyone I know. Thanks again

OK cottage - Noice from the neighbouring room
Publié le 3 août 2018 sur HotelsWe stayed there one night. The cottage was fine with a very nice fully equipped kitchen - Good for us as we selfcater. During the evening a lady moved in in the neighboring room and we could hear everything she said on the phone. We kindly asked her not to speak so loud as we wanted to speak. She said that she would ask the reception to get another room and some time later she left the room. The door between our room and the neighbouring room was not good or in any way tight at all. therefore, you could hear everything from the neighbouring room. The owners should get a better door! Breakfast was fine, you order in the evening.

Ridiculous 6 o'clock wake up call, bad shower.
Publié le 1 févr. 2017 sur HotelsWe were out late, the staff woke us up at 6:00 AM to ask us how we want our eggs, which was ridiculous. We told them to go away, and they came back at 7:00 AM to once again ask us how we want our eggs! Eventually they brought our breakfast at 9:30, but there was only a bar and two stools for the 4 of us to eat at. We let the staff know and they came back with a small table and two chairs..
The shower was terrible, it would burn you one moment, then freeze you next. The accommodation had a notice explaining that they could not do anything about the variation in pressure since the municipality installed washers to combat the drought. (So don't expect the bathroom experience to be improved upon in the future)

We apologise for the inconvenience caused in regards to the breakfast.
You did arrive late and my housekeeping ladies were told to come back in the morning to ask what you would like for breakfast. You did not give them a time so obviously they did not know.
Once again, we apologise.
In regards to the shower and washers installed by the municipality, we do not have control over that at all but are taking up some measures in preventing that.
Nonetheless, we trust you had a great stay and we hope to have you here again soon to experience our other cottages that we have to offer.

A one night stop off.
Publié le 1 févr. 2017 sur ExpediaHandy for the motorway but that was about all. Place needs modernising and refurbishing. No a/c or plug socket in the bedroom, polyester sheets on bed so got little sleep. Opened the window to try to get some air but once one dog barked, there were twenty!! Grubby bathroom and shabby decor. Photos on web must have been taken years ago. Staff we met were pleasant. Steepest driveway I've ever seen. A lot of steps to get to accommodation so not suitable for disabled. Would not stay again as got very little sleep.

We are in the process of becoming 4 star rated and therefore are installing aircons.
There is a plug socket in the bedroom. You should have maybe just asked to find out?
We have other cottages available that don't have steps leading to them, the apartment is the cottage that YOU booked.
We apologise for any inconveniences and we hope to have you stay here again to experience our other cottages that we have to offer.
