Amazing Weekend Break
Posted Feb. 4, 2022 on HotelsMorokolo Safari Lodge has exceeded our expectations. From the hospitality from Jacqie upon arrival, to the knowledgeable game drives by Riaan. Not even to mention the luxurious accommodation. Will definitely return to Morokolo Lodge

Total expensive let-down.
Posted Mar. 27, 2017 on Hotels(1) Was disappointed with the room. I specifically asked for a Kingsize bed but got 2 small beds which were only converted into a bigger bed the following day. The first night was extremely uncomfortable.
The room cupboards looked old with peeling finishing/trimmings.
(2) The food quality and variety were far below expectations especially in view of the money paid.
(3) Game viewing really not informative; guide was merely driving around, sharing very little knowledge of game and birds.(4) Overall, a total expensive letdown.

Thank you for reviewing us and we apologise for the error in the bedding setup. We have now invested in more bedding so this will never happen again.
We are working on improving our menus all the time so we hope to wow you on your next visit!
Our guides all have their own styles of guiding but we will work on them giving more information, don't be afraid to ask questions though :)

Underwhelming experience
Posted Nov. 1, 2016 on ExpediaHotel is nice and well decorated. Game drives are cut short because of kitchen schedule demands. I go to the bush for the wildlife, not to be cut short because a cook that wants to run his kitchen on a clock. Food is served buffet style anyway, so what is the rush?
Convenient location, close to Jhb, but overall disappointing.

Thank you for your review, we are aware of the kitchen restraints and try to be as flexible as possible, taking into account check-out times and housekeeping requirements to give you the best possible combination. Still in the pipeline is another restaurant which should then give us more flexibility around times. We hope to see you again someday to show you our upgrades!

Fantastic small Lodge
Posted Oct. 16, 2016 on Expedia
Location: Cant self drive safari on the concession the entrance to the national park is only about 30 minutes away and there are plenty of animals midday
My wife and I stayed here for one night in October and found it to be fantastic. the staff were great, the facilities are beautiful and that game drives productive. the meals are served at a nearby lodge and were very good. I am sorry I only got to stay one night but it is highly recommended!

BEWARE: NO WIFI IN ROOMS, BUT GREAT HOTEL
Posted Feb. 28, 2016 on HotelsMy biggest disappointment in this establishment is arriving and finding out that there is no wifi at the lodge even though it lists that it does. They offer wifi ONLY in the restaurant, which you only go to twice a day for meals--not to lounge about and be on your laptop, etc.
Other than that, I would agree that the rooms themselves are slightly outdated and rundownish--but not enough for me to not want to return. Let's just say that the paint and decor looks a lot nicer in the photos than it does in real life.
Very comfy beds, very large and very cool bathrooms with tub, shower, and outdoor shower.
The pool shouldn't really be called a pool--it should be called a dipping area of water. It is literally the smallest "pool" I have ever seen.
Game drives were a 10/10 experience, and service at the hotel and restaurant was fantastic.
The biggest question that any review comes down to is: Would I return to this lodge if I were back in the Pilanesberg area?
I'd answer that with a Yes.

Thank you for your review. We are planning to expand the Wi Fi to the lounge areas in the future, but we cannot specify on this website exactly which areas do and don't have Wi Fi.
The pool is a splash pool but is big enough to relax and refresh with a few people, even watch the sunset with a glass of wine in hand :)
We hope you will return for some more terrific sightings!

Ótima experiência
Posted Nov. 18, 2017 on ExpediaA estadia no Morokolo foi incrível!

Posted Jan. 20, 2015 on HotelsTolle Zimmer, wunderschön.
Was soll dass ???

Thank you for your review, we always appreciate any feedback from our valued guests.
We have a new menu and chefs and our latest guests love the new meals.
There seems to be a misunderstanding as welcome drinks have and never will be charged for, but yes drinks on game drives and at the lodge and restaurant are an extra charge.
To get the best game drive experience we recommend staying more than one night because there is so much to see and it is not always possible in one night so we hope you will return and we are able to give you a much improved experience.
