Fantastic Mountain Escape

Not clean or well stocked.
Publié le 9 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were extremely disappointed by the state of the cabin. As a pet owner who brought a dog, I'm fine with some signs of pet use, but the state when I got there was shocking.
There were piles of white dog hair accumulated all over the floor, as if it had never been cleaned. I imagine it was the owner's dog since no short stay could have accumulated that much. The master bed also had dark dog hair embedded in the comforter. Cobb webs were in every high place. The ceiling fan threw an appalling amount of dust and debris everywhere when first turned on. The side door screens aren't fitted correctly, so trying to get some air meant pine needles blew into the house, as the porch was piled with them (also not cleaned.) The back yard had not been cleared of dog poop prior to arrival.
The coffee pot for the coffee maker was broken. There were only two forks in the whole place. There was no dishwasher detergent. The listing listed a sofa bed. Well, there's a sofa, but calling it a bed is a stretch. And as far as I can tell, the listing is counting it as two beds. Luckily, the one queen and two twins were enough for out group.

Nice Weekend Away.

The central heat did not work, but the place got warm with the fireplace and space heater. The wall heaters in the rooms helped keep them warm. The kitchen could use better cooking utensils, but the appliances were very good. The cabin Was clean on inside but the porch needed sweeping. There is also unsightly throw-away items outside and under the house.

Publié le 30 déc. 2023 sur HomeAwayMy family and I experienced an absolutely appalling situation! This owner canceled our reservation when we were 30 minutes away. They stranded us. Their reason was that they couldn't get cleaners to the property that day. Isn't that supposed to be arranged in advance? How can an owner be allowed to cancel a trip when the guests are already on their way? On top of that, check-in time had already passed! I wasn't even given the opportunity to work out an alternate solution with the owner - I would have been willing to wipe down surfaces and launder the bedding just so my family and I could have our vacation. But no - they just sent us home when we were nearly there! All the preparation, anticipation, and gas . . . for nothing. This experience was beyond unacceptable! Though VRBO is certainly NOT at fault, I've completely lost trust in vacation rental platforms. Owners should never be able to do what they did to me - cancel day of (or really within 36 hours of arrival) - with the exception of inclement weather or emergency. VRBO should remove this property/owner from their platform.

Cabin In the woods weekend.

Cabin
Publié le 19 févr. 2022 sur HomeAwayOverall it was nice. Check in process was difficult. The door code didn't work. The cabin was locked with a key. We had no information about the key. The manager wasn't reachable. There is no cell reception. We had to go to locals to get wifi access.
Pros... the cabin is nice and cozy. In an absolutely quiet neighborhood and environment. In the woods. Close to a Village Center. Nice wood burning fireplace. Good and updated appliances. If you want the hustle and bustle this is wrong. If you want quiet piece relaxation and nature you are right here. Recommended
