Great Place to Stay for Hiking + Stargazing !
We had a brief but fantastic stay at the Hideaway Retreat cabin, which was lovely inside, clean, and well-equipped. James was very quick in responding and flexible when the weather forecast prompted us to move-up the dates of our stay by a day, which was greatly appreciated. We look forward to our next opportunity to stay at the Hideaway Retreat cabin again, and recommend it highly.

Five Stars With An *
Two couples and lifelong friends stayed at this beautiful property in September 2023. Everything about the listing was accurately presented. The pictures do not do it justice. The ‘cabin’ is very roomy, full of light and exceptionally decorated. The gourmet kitchen is to die for. This property was especially suited to one of our party with mobility issues. The ‘asterisk’ comes because of a few maintenance issues that individually would never spoil a stay, but combined, makes for a few frown wrinkles. *Please ensure television remotes are working and/or provide replacement batteries. *Pocket doors are great, until they won’t slide. Bathroom pockets had to stay open or stay closed. Inconvenient. *Lastly, the driveway entrance was a surprise. Expectedly, it is on an incline. However, the transition from the roadbed to the drive is very very steep, causing a ‘bump’ upon entry. Once you get in, the drive flattens out nicely and makes for a very easy entry with suitcases and supplies. We had a high profile vehicle, so no problems. But a low car or vehicle with a tow package might drag a bit. The extra driveway turnaround space was greatly appreciated. All in all, a FABULOUS stay. We are already making plans to return to The Hideaway and go back to The Perch for ‘Fish On A Stick”.

Much ado about chirping
This property both indoors and out is beautiful. The first night after a twelve hour sojourn from new York no one slept well as the smoke alarms chimed like the jungle birdhouse at the Bronx Zoo. Communicating the needed fix was cumbersome at best requiring a code that expires every 15 minutes so that we were half way through our stay before our dilemma was addressed. Luckily we were able to replace the batteries supplied by a thoughtful host. This minor problem tended to overshadow an otherwise well appointed property that was carefully tended to by someone who wanted to provide a hospitable experience.

Peaceful getaway in the mountains
We stayed at this lovely home while visiting family in the PMC area. Check in was easy, and everything was very neat and clean inside. The location is perfect, close to the village center but up on the mountain. The home was spacious and comfortable, but the outdoor space was especially amazing. Huge decks with tons of seating and shade. In the afternoon, I turned off the AC inside and opened the windows and deck doors to feel the breeze and listen to the birds and wind blowing through the trees. One evening, we had our family come over for dinner, and there was plenty of space for everyone. They have a huge, inviting dinner table! We also went to the pool one of the days with the kids and had a really nice time. I would definitely book this home again when we come back for another visit!
