Amazing place! We will definitely be returning. The staff were very friendly and helped to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend the Mariposa Beach Resort.

Food was excellent, treehouse concept very cool but I think it’s pooor customer service that the resort does not offer any free transport to placencia. Food in rooms mini bar was stale and old. .

The pictures you see online are totally accurate. Its a beautiful resort. The locaton is perfect, about a 15 minute bike ride into placencia. The restaurant is excellent! Loved every meal. The staff are the best. We have never been treated so well. They were always smiling, always friendly. Its a small resort so you really feel comfortable and taken care of. We stayed in #9 and we could watch the sunrise every morning from our balcony. Highly recommend!!

Mariposa is a 50 min walk by beach to Placencia. Not recommended... too difficult to navigate - do not recommend. Taxi to town is $10 (US). Our room was Treehouse #1. You climb up several steps to your room.... very cool vibe. You are quite far from the beach and the restaurant, but the facility is very well maintained and beautiful in the trees, so the walk is lovely. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was okay. We were only there for 4 nights, so we went for dinner at the Turtle Inn down the road (walking distance) and had a lovely experience there with live music etc.
The Mariposa has a nice beach, but like all of Belize, not great swimming. They have a couple of kayaks we took out (free) as well as paddleboards. That was really fun. Their pool is pretty small but nice!

A truly relaxed, lovely and extremely hospitable place to stay in Placencia. We loved our time at Mariposa!

We don’t usually stay at places like this one because we are usually on a tighter budget but this was a fantastic middle of the road option. The staff wer always available.
