We never got that remark. Most probably you were not familiar the the American logic concerning temperature regulation in showers.

I booked the property online. Couldn’t get any phone contact or email contact with the place. I spoke with Expedia twice and they said they would try to reimburse me, but I have never heard back from them! Not happy with the way I’ve been treated!

Would stay again if it's cooler weather

Publié le 22 juin 2019 sur Hotels
Nice looking room, pretty hibiscus & other flowers to welcome us. The worst A/C of the 3 places we stayed. Standing right in the path of it was comfortable, a couple feet away from that spot was ok, half the room was always warm, the bathroom was always HOT. Shower a gentle trickle varying from cool (bathroom hot, so cool didn't feel bad) to warm (lack of curtain not an issue as far as water spilling out). About a mile from "main drag" of Placencia. Gecko spotted in room in all 3 places stayed (if anyone cares). Except for the heat & sometimes sewer smell of bathroom was pretty perfect!

The hosts and staff were pleasant and sincere people. However, I had booked two rooms and only one was available. The proximity to the road made it a noisy place to stay. And I was disappointed at how far it is from a beach, which possibly was not clear in the hotel description.

Michel and his wife are helping and always nice. I have been impressed by how clean and well managed is the place! Location is great too, 400 meters from the Barefoot famous local bar.

Nice affordable hotel - but with compromises

Publié le 6 janv. 2017 sur Hotels
We stayed in room 4 for 4 nights. It has a queen size bed, 2 tables, two garden chairs, 3 barstools, 1 couch, a wall shelf & an unenclosed small bar hangers to hang clothes with. The kitchenette, dining space and bedroom form one large room. The kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee machine (no filters) and a sink, liquid dish soap, pots and a frying pan, plates & bowls, utensils for 4 people and a portable electric cook top with 2 heating elements. The A/C is supplied with electricity only from 6pm-8am. The owner charges US$15 per day extra if you want to have the A/C for all day. No toilet paper is to be thrown in the toilet and has to be disposed in the bin provided. It is because the ground water level is only approx. 1.5 ft deep and thus the plumbing has a very shallow angle and clogs easily. The bathroom has a shower. Only complimentary soap is provided, no shampoo or conditioner. The housed has a small 3rd level sun deck with obstructed views of the ocean and bay. It is only a 3min walk to a beautiful and uncrowded beach where you can swim. We almost had the beach to ourselves. During the day, you can hear noise from the street as the hotel is located on the only road in and out of town – it is not a busy road, however. Traffic noise died down shortly after sunset. Long story short: This is a nice and affordable hotel in Placencia. It is close to the beach and if street noise during the day does not bother you, then this hotel may be for you.

Rooms are clean and no-frill. The wifi reception within the room is very poor; it is often necessary to go to outside seating area to get reception on an iPad or iPhone. The owner will charge extra for using the air conditioning. Overall, it is decent choice for the value-oriented consumer in Placencia.

The Perfect Location

Publié le 11 janv. 2015 sur Expedia
Pour : Very clean, enough kitchen appliances to make a meal if necessary. Hotplate was provided.
Contre : Please leave a few coffee filters for the new guests. Not much of a complaint, but sure would be handy!
Emplacement : Diving, swimming, sunning on the beach, snorkeling, many, many excellent restaurants [don't miss the rib-eye steak at Cozy Corner!] Shops.
Arrived after a marathon red-eye flight, and the long speed bump infested drive to a very clean, albeit spartan, room. Alas, it's late and the A/C doesn't work! The manager, a VERY nice, helpful man said he would try to get it fixed the next day. But remember, this is--Belize! Amazing man, he got it fixed! The hotel location is on the outskirts of town, allowing easy walking to eateries, stores, what have you. But it is far enough out of the main area to be quiet at night. It is also only 500 yards from the white Caribbean sandy beach. The times we were down there we could see a mile of white sandy beach--and we were the only ones on it. Amazing place. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
