Friendly staff. Nothing like what we expected from the description and photos. Not our most comfortable stay...

Good value and a good vibe
We had a wonderful stay at the inn. Mathew and Natalya were great hosts and directed us to good local guides and restaurants. Our room was very basic (may not have been the best in the inn) but very clean and adequate. Very good value for the money. The sign says good vibrations and that was very true as we quickly felt at home with our hosts and the other guests.
Mathew and Nathalia were wonderful hosts. They spent a lot of time answering our questions and directing us to activities that suited our needs. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was served every morning and was delicious. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the beach and walking distance to several restaurants and a small shop. There is also a great surf shop that offers equipment and lessons nearby. I would definitely recommend the Indra Inn to anyone staying in Playa Grande.
This lodge looks great from the outside but its disgustingly dirty from inside. They have centipedes all over the floor, spiders everywhere from under the sink, on the curtains, on the bed and scorpion behind the bed. They need to really step up their cleanliness. The staff was alright, a little helpful but very mean and not understanding when we didn't want to live in a bug infested room and risk getting bit by the scorpion. The guy in charge said they get scorpions often and people get bitten all the time. Im sorry but i dont like putting my family and my life at risk to get bitten by a poisonous scorpion. I understand its Costa Rica and having a few bugs is normal but its NOT normal to have those bugs in the room. Im playing to stay inside the lodge or I would camp in the rainforest. Book rooms at your own risk.
The hosts Matt and Natalia were extremely helpful in providing information on things to do, places to eat. They made me feel comfortable in a foreign surrounding.
Incredible - we were sad to leave! The entire place feels like home, as this family run business makes a point of it to make sure you are welcomed with a smile. Would love to return one day!
Matt and Natalia are welcoming. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The area is incredible and you have all you need with walking distance. I will stay here again if I get back to the area
We really enjoyed our stay here. Nothing was too much trouble and it really felt like home. The staff became friends and were very helpful in making suggestions about good food, activities and life in general.
The rooms are decent, comfy, and clean. There is hot water and a good wifi signal. The hotel is in a walking distance to the beach. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
If you are in the area, go and visit Granada and Ometepe Island, in Nicaragua. You won't regret. We did it! The owner gave us the info and explained us how to get there.
We did not try the breakfast because we left early.
The only thing is that we had to wait around 4 hours to check in, but we walked around the area.
I recommend this hotel.
Playa Grande is a beautiful beach and Indra Inn is a wonderful place to stay.
Very nice, comfortable and peaceful accommodations. Free wifi, breakfast, parking and help with tours and activities. A very short walk to the beach, surf shops, activities, and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Nice place to stay!
Nice place to stay with amazing owners and the cutest little boy. The breakfast is outstanding! The bed could use a little padding and a blanket. An oversheet isn't enough for the night.
I recently stayed at the Indra Inn for a total of 9 nights as a solo traveller and I didn't feel lonely at all.
The owners Matt and Natalia will help you feel welcomed as soon as you step through the entrance and are always willing to go out of their way to assist you with whatever you may need. The room was clean and the property very well maintained.
The inn is also very close to the beach (around a 10 min walk) and there are some good restaurants close by that offer great food for a decent price.
All in all, it was a great experience and I will definitely go back for my next trip in Playa Grande, if only to see Marshmallow again, the princess of the Indra inn.
Wow... didn't know what to expect heading to the coast, or Costa Rica in general, but the Indra Inn really took the cake. Matt and Natalia were so amazingly nice and friendly, true to form creating a communal environment where we spoke regularly with them, their adorable son and other guests throughout the day and our entire stay. While Playa Grande is much quieter than Tamarindo (a wonderfully long beach walk away), there are plenty of places to eat, local surf shops and tours (which you can also arrange at Indra) and the Inn offers a homemade "typical" breakfast with great hours for late sleepers.
Indra Inn was a super sweet place to stay with Mathew and his family managing the hotel. If you are looking for something laid back, friendly, and close to everything, this is the place. We only stayed one night. We met Thomas, a Pipa Fria (Cold coconut) vendor by day, and a turtle tour guide by night. We ate the best ceviche I've ever had a few doors down from Indra Inn, she made it fresh and served it with fried plantain chips. It was so delicious, we tried to get it again the following day, but were unable to wait the extra 20 minutes for them to get the fresh fish nearby. I'm adding this to the Indra Inn review because it was the total package. Here is a charming quote that was pinned to a tree at the Inn, "Never mistake knowledge for wisdom, one helps you make a living and the other helps you make a life." Pura Vida
It was a very nice hotel with lovely, friendly owners. We didn't stay too long, so no extensive opinions. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great, but our room was about 10 feet from the road which meant we heard cars driving by, which wasn't that frequent, but enough to notice.
My first time coming to Costa Rica and this was my first stop. Natalia and Matt were the best. I will definitely be staying there again!!

Cozy place close to Playa Grande
The Inn was a nice, cozy place. It was undergoing some work in the common area when we arrived and also had a party that night. We didn't mind either, but it would have been nice to know about it before we checked in, as a courtesy.
The room and bathroom were clean--with the room even having an AC. We had some problem with the bathroom drain being blocked from inside the pipes due to which we had to shower in a pool of accumulated water. But Natalie promptly addressed it when I told her about it.
The breakfast was good: eggs, toast and coffee. They also had a muesli and fruit option.
Matthew and Natalie were overall friendly hosts and we enjoyed staying at their inn.
We had a lovely time staying here. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. AC is great!! After bouncing around for a week without AC, we greatly appreciated it. The shower was warm with solid pressure. They have a book exchange too :-) They gave a great recommendation for a canoe trip through the Mangroves. It's like Disney World for nature lovers. Saw many monkeys, birds, alligators etc.
Indra Inn is right next door to the surf shop and just up the road from Kike's place. If you go to Kike's place and like hot sauce, you HAVE to try the chef Yanni's chilies. Fantastic. (Seriously. I'm still trying to figure out how to get some shipped back to the US.)
The Italian place next door serves woodfire pizzas about 2 feet in diameter. I ate mine for 2 days, great option if you're on a budget.
