The property was everything we hoped for and exactly as it had been advertised. The gîte has been tastefully decorated to a very high standard and is set in the most beautiful and peaceful surroundings. It was perfect for us.

Just a delightful place to stay. Everything was just right even the weather.

We spent two weeks in this very quiet area. Excellent facilities and a daily cleaned pool. The hosts kept our privacy and we had a very relaxing time.

Located within an hour of Limoges. The property itself is ideal for a couple who want total peace & tranquility. Rurally located surrounded by fields & wildlife! Very clean & functional with some lovely little detailed touches & tastefully finished with a lot of thought going into the property. The photos don't do it justice, much better when you see it for yourself. Lisas & Steve were fantastic, helpful & overall lovely hosts. One could not fault their dedication, consideration & friendliness. Would certainly recommend for those who want a total switch off or travel around. Plenty to see within a short distance although transport is strongly advised.

This Gite was above our expectations. It certainly deserves the 5*rating. Lisa & Darren were excellent host but Lisa was the hostess who was above & beyond the call of duty. They put us in total ease as soon as we met them. The Gite was without doubt 100% clean from top to bottom. It is an idyllic place for honeymooners. Ideal place to celebrate that special Wedding Anniversary birthday or to get plenty of R & R. We had a superb welcome pack waiting for us. Which so much thought had gone into it. There is a BBQ with coal supplied a plunge pool in the back garden with the most beautiful stunning views. We spent an hour on a lounger after dark looking at the stars waiting to see shooting stars. We were not disappointed. Lisa supplied a lovely soft blanket for us. The Gite is not called Nid de Amour for nothing. Tasteful decorated though out. Lisa has made a excellent & informative folder with suggestions of places & markets to visit. One place Lisa & Darren recommend to us was 'The martyred village of Oradour xur Glane' this was a great day out & well worth the visit. Their is also a lovely wood burner with logs supplied for the cooler months. We also watched Swallows swooping down to the pool catching insects & scooping up the water. You get to see stunning sunrises & sunsets. It's such a peaceful & relaxing place to be. We certainly couldn't fault the Gite. It was well equipped Gite. Thank you Lisa & Darren for making us feel so relaxed it was heaven compared to our holiday last August!!

We spent a wonderful, peaceful 2 weeks at the property. For us the, the gite was perfect and there was great attention to detail from Lisa and Darren. From the initial internal planning and construction to being decorated to a high standard I feel that both Lisa and Darren can be proud of their achievements in making the gite a very comfortable and relaxing place to be. As hosts they were always on hand and helpful whilst respecting privacy. There was a lovely welcome basket with a few essentials to tide you over until you can get to the local supermarket. Being a well equipped gite, there were instruction manuals left in both English as well as other languages for the appliances (which were maintained to an exceptional standard) What can I say .... A wonderful, welcoming and peaceful luxury gite maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness with the perfect hosts. My only regret is that the 2 weeks weren't long enough. We will be back ....

This is a superbly renovated Gite. The attention to detail is outstanding. The owner is very attentive and there are many lovely touches to the Gite including a lovely welcome hamper. There is also much to see and do in the area. The pool is fabulous and the views from the Gite are super including the sunsets and stargazing. Thank you so much we look forward to returning...

We booked this Gite for a romantic week away for my wife’s 40th Birthday. Looking on line as soon as she saw this place her mind was made up and we booked straight away. We arrived at about 6pm and the owners were there with a warm welcome. From the outside my first impression was that the building was a bit small but when you get inside it is remarkably spacious and perfect for a romantic getaway. There are 3 rooms inside the bedroom is comfortable and cosy with a blackout curtain and because of the location there is no noise to disturb your sleep (We have kids so peace and quiet was a novelty). There are lots of little touches to make it a romantic retreat. The bathroom has a great shower and a spa bath The main living area is cosy with a comfortable sofa, log burner and a selection of romantic movies perfect for passing an evening together. There is a small kitchen area and a table for two. There is a patio door leading to outside and a private patio area with views across the garden and a small valley. There are no street lights here and no light pollution so the views of the night sky are amazing. I have stayed in a number of different of Gites in various parts of France and Europe and can say that the décor in this one was way ahead of anything else. Quality of finishes throughout was high and the owners have obviously put a lot of thought into creating a romantic retreat. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and it was clear the owners wanted us to have a nice week. I would suggest if you have any questions just ask them as they are incredibly approachable and friendly and know the area they live in well. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet romantic break without hesitation and would like to thank our hosts Lisa & Darren for a perfect week. (I would suggest that if you book here you consider flying to Limoges and hiring a car. We drove and have worked out that the cost for us on channel crossing, fuel and tolls would be about the same if coming from the UK.)

The Gite was superbly fitted out and an excellent base for a week exploring the Charente, with a great pool, in which to cool off on the many hot afternoons we experienced. Lisa and Darren were more than helpful hosts and could not have done more to help us relax into the traffic free French way of life in this beautiful region. There are many markets and idyllic villages to explore within 25km and Confolens with its twice weekly market only 12km away, has a couple of excellent restaurants/hotels in which to experience a great lunch de jour as the market draws to a close.
