You can see a small bit of ocean from the front porch but really you are looking at the houses across the street and in the neighborhood. There is no air conditioning other than a window unit in the master bedroom and in the basement area, so if it is hot outside, the living space and the 3 other bedrooms are beastly. The fans provided were terrible. The shower leaked and a lot of water dripped onto basement ceiling at one point. Things like this happen in a house- it was just bad luck and if it had been handled properly I would not have even written about it in the review. But the conversation with the owners felt accusatory (like we had done something to cause it like hanging something very heavy on the shower head) and antagonistic. A week after we checked out she texted that we were still signed in to their TV and that they were locked of it. We had signed out from that TV upon being finished with it (as instructed) and at the host's request checked again and again that we were signed out. The whole back-and-forth felt confrontational and confusing, because on our end, everything was logged out, and there was no more I could do.Iwas also chastised for bleached-out spots on two of the towels, which I do believe was caused by acne cream, which was our fault, and I offered to pay for the replacement towels. It was just the first time with VRBO that the trip ended with a negative and strange vibe.

Guests added 8(!) extra people to their group above the 2 that were booked in the reservation (red flag).
Guests confirmed verbally and by text and app message that they received and understood the guest guide book rules, thanked us for providing photos and lists of many puzzles, games, and books for rainy day activities, as well as a detailed list of local restaurants and activities as well as locations and websites for each. Guests then proceeded to ask duplicate questions a week apart when said questions had already been answered (some in the form of drawing them a map to reach a store because they didn't know how to use a phone or google on their iPhone).
After arriving, despite knowing the listing states and guide book confirms there is no AC but there are whole-room vortex or oscillating fans in each room, guests complained about external air temp of 75-79F in August being too hot and why haven't we put AC in the house etc..
Guests complained repeatedly about lack of beach chairs because the beach tent provided was not to their liking. The listing did not state there were beach chairs and the guests were told and shown in photos prior to their stay that there is a beach tent.
For the following we have not bothered to request payment for damages because it is not worth the headache.
Damages: Despite being provided amenities lists including Burts Bees disposable makeup remover face cleansing cloths in each bathroom prominently next to each sink, guests bleached THREE full sets of gray bath towels/hand towels/face cloths, which I have had to replace. As the carpet stain remover (active ingredient is bleach) spray bottle had been moved from the top floor down one floor to next to the laundry spray & wash by guests and the size of bleached spots is far bigger than what would go on a person's face, it appeared they used bleach carpet stain remover on our towels instead of spray & wash. As that bathroom floor smelled like someone had overflowed that toilet during their stay, it's possible that was the reason for the towels having been bleached and washed, though the guide book manual clearly states (along with accompanying photo by app message) where actual rags are located and to please not use the towels as rags.
Guests yanked on the adjustable height shower head rather than loosening the adjustable arm before pulling on it, causing a flood that my husband had to drive there to address, diagnose, and repair immediately after they told us about it. This flood caused ceiling tiles damage (3 ceiling tiles were replaced) for the floor below as well as cabinet damage. Guests turned off dehumidifiers in the renovated basement space -after- causing a flood.
Weird? Guests poked around in places they don't belong turning off circuit breakers at random in the electric panel, completely removed the ecobee smart thermostats from the wall for reasons unknown and necessitating re-initializing the system to reconnect with the wifi and enable remote access again.
Ignoring the guest guide manual: Guests did not return the large fans, furniture, or queen-size air mattress to the respective rooms (the air mattress was left haphazardly deflated on the floor in the middle of the finished basement space). The house was disgustingly dirty and even after we'd spent 4 hours cleaning and tidying up, pro cleaners still had to be hired to remove layers of grime and sand ground into every floor and surface.
Regarding FIOS- guests managed to use their Google assistant to lock us out of our TV's FIOS search and this has since been resolved via technician and full reset/reinstall.
By far the most downright disrespectful and damaging guests we have ever encountered across 3 rental seasons. More appropriate future accommodations for these guests would be all-inclusive resorts with daily housekeeping services, beefy insurance damages policies, and motel-prices.

Awesome getaway!

Clean and tidy, games and books for evenings with my kids. Great porch for morning coffee and quiet evenings in the breeze. Neighborhood was very quiet and friendly. Communication with owners was very easy. All around perfect getaway!

With many common areas where we could be together. The host was so responsive and had so many things stocked for us! The private neighborhood beach was breathtaking!

The host was very responsive, easy, and the house contained well thought out details (luggage carts, extra towels, makeup wipes). We loved this place!
