It was not what we expected.
Publié le 12 août 2023 sur HotelsThis was our first time in Pohang, and we WERE extremely excited to stay here. The limited interaction we got with staff was fine. They were friendly (spoke very little English). Beware that this place does not have an elevator. Stairs only! So if you are disabled, have strollers & small children, it may not be convenient. We were not impressed with the price we paid for the quality that we got. The beds were extremely uncomfortable (solid as a rock) and blankets were extremely thin. There was also a couple of huge stains on one of the beds as well. The unit we got was not as clean as noted (family with queen & twin bed with kitchenette), and neither was the pool. I would say the best thing out of this stay was the view we got. The blowdryer was broken, couch/futon was extremely uncomfortable as there was a metal bar that went straight across the back, so we couldn't even sit on the couch to relax. There was also a can of bug spray in the unit for us to use (I guess). We are also the type to not wear shoes indoors, but that was not feasible as my feet got dirty from walking around. It was NOTHING near what we expected, but we stilled hunted the good stuff and had a great time. This review may be a bit harsh since we've never been to Pohang and do not know what it's like out there.

I am from the US and searched all of Korea for a special destination for a vacation and finally settled on PineWave. We had a ten night stay in B7 and it was amazing. The proximity to the ocean gave us the opportunity to hear the soothing sound of waves crashing against the rocks day and night. We saw beautiful sunrises and felt the fresh ocean breeze right from our bedroom! The kitchen was sufficient for our needs and we ate most meals from the intimate table overlooking the sea and pines. We arrived to Pohang by KTX train from Seoul then took a taxi to Pine Wave for about 50,000 won. We spent the first four days without a car, walking and jogging to the scenic places along the shore. The town of Guryongpo is easily within walking distance and has good coffee shops, supermarkets, and many restaurants with a lot of crab! PineWave is not great for ocean swimming because of the rocks but Guryongpo has a beautiful sand beach and when we swam there in mid September the water was surprisingly warm. It is possible to enjoy PineWave without a car, using public transportation, taxis, or even cycling. However, after three days we took the 9000 bus back to KTX and got a rental car there from Lotte for 7 days. The bus was only 1300 won. We made hiking excursions to two National Parks, Juwangsan and Gayasan, from PineWave. Both were about two hours drive and we ended up staying overnight at Gayasan for a second day of hiking. With the car we visited sunrise point and nearby hot springs.
