Large House Unusual Decor

Convenient location for our son's wedding at Evergreen Farms, lots of space and parking, modern kitchen, working internet and modern TVs (that even allowed streaming from our phones). Easy interactions with both the manager and the owner. Now the not-so-good. First, the owner was supposed to meet us at check-in, but never showed up. We were given the lockbox code so we were able to get in without a problem, but no tour. The odd decor hits you immediately upon entry. Every inch of wall and cabinet space is covered with strange artwork, clocks, stuffed animals (bears) and creepy antique dolls. In one bedroom an armoire was filled with these dolls facing the bed. Scary. These seemed to be remnants from the time the property was an inn, which could have been a long time ago. If that is your bag, you'll love it. Personally, it was a little weird for us and our guests. One shower did not work, which we knew from a previous guest comment several months earlier, but it was not fixed and the owner told me that he was having trouble getting parts. The shower door in another shower didn't slide very well and I did not want to break it further by forcing it. The refrigerator was full of the last guests' food and drink. Yuck!. The driveway entrance is not well marked or lit Just don't drive by too fast at night or you will miss it. The house could use a little TLC, some yardwork and a deep cleaning. Worked for 2 days byt would not book again.

Great for our Family
Publié le 2 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayOverall we enjoyed our stay. The house was big enough for all of us and the location was decent since it was just 10 minutes to the highway and stores. Very rural and quiet.
Catherine rhe manager was very responsive and was there to let us in and give us a tour. It’s a very unique house (in a good way) and was able to accommodate our family of 15. Lots of rooms, spacious kitchen, two living rooms and two staircases. Definitely didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. We didn’t get to use the outside decks which looked awesome since the weather wasn’t the greatest.
A few challenges….Catherines daughter did a great job with a surface clean but the house in general needs a very deep clean. Like cleaning out the drawers in the kitchen, moving all the furniture to clean…again, the surface clean was great but overall the house needs a deep clean
As well, there were things advertised like 6 full bathrooms but one of the showers that went with two bedrooms didn’t work because rheee was a part missingbso it wasn’t really 6 bathrooms. Hot tun, washer/dryer and exercise rooms were advertised in the listing but there was no hot tub, washer/dryer or exercise room at all. The queen beds seemed small like maybe doubles instead but we could be wrong.
In all, we’d likely stay there again if we needed to be in that part of the state but we just wanted to make sure everyone else is aware of a few challenges.

Great size and location for our event

The house wasn’t perfectly spotless and stained carpets and too many things on the walls but nothing terrible. It was all easily overlooked because we were all together with lots of room to spread out if needed.

fascinating house
Publié le 2 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had read that the house was not clean......this was untrue, as the inside of the house was in excellent condition. We did have to clean the outside tables. We also didn't realize that the house was right on route 44 (didn't know route 44 also had a regular name!). Would be so much nicer if the lawn were mowed and ther grounds were better. BUT, we thoroughly enjoyed the stay, the owner and representative were very responsive, and the house is a beautiful labyrinth of rooms with great decorations. Would recommend this to any large group!

Great House
Publié le 7 mai 2023 sur HomeAwayIt’s a great house that is in a peaceful neighborhood and it’s spacious so you don’t have to step on each others toes. You don’t have to worry about anything staying at this house. The only thing I will say it can be a little bit more clean but the house itself was so beautiful and I will recommend staying here.

Property not maintained

Lawn long, cobwebs everywhere, air conditioners full of mold and smelled bad, faucets in bathroooms broken, dirty dishes in cupboard, bird poop all over outside furniture and deck not clean. I actually wrote the manager a letter and told him how disappointed I was and that I would not write a public review but since I never heard from him ! There was a broken front doorbell with a thriving bees nest. I am so dissapointed in the management, I will never go back

wonderful amenities, cleanliness lacking
Publié le 17 juin 2022 sur HomeAwayThe property was located in a beautiful, secluded area. Property is perfect for families and mid-sized events. Nice decor inside of the space. Cleanliness was lacking -- everything was coated in a layer of dust, found hairs on the sheets, and flies in the bathroom. Water was not heated until our second day of the stay. Property manager was generally communicative, accommodating, and answered promptly to requests. Aside from cleanliness, would recommend this property.
