All in our group were very happy with the home..Wifi was a bit slow, but we weren't there for that..lol! Recommend to those visiting for the Louisiana Renaissance Fest..short 18 minute drive..

Halloween with grandchildren
Publié le 2 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayOn 10/31/2024, we enjoyed an early arrival with two small pups. We relaxed in the lovely “Home away from Home ” before meeting our grandchildren for the big night. About a block from their home, the sky opened up. Although soaked & tired, we returned and slept wonderfully listening to the rain on the tin roof.

Wedding Weekend
Publié le 2 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayI don't even know where to start. My family and I have stayed at this home twice now and we absolutely LOVE it. It has become our home away from home for weddings at Chesterton Square. Jeffrey and Ursula are absolutely wonderful and they make the house feel like HOME!
We're already thinking of other reasons to book this home in the future.
We will definitely be back as long as they'll have us.

Horrible People DO NOT RENT
Publié le 29 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayI rented as the ad stated, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeps 9. No where did it state that only two people are allowed and everyone else is more. Also, the air conditioning did not work properly and the owner stated that the hole in the outside unit that causes the AC not to work; was caused by a hurricane IDA that occurred 4 years ago. The night that we got there was horrible, the air conditioning didn't work (the house was at 80 degrees) and termites were swarming and literally coming out of the holes in the walls. We were covered in flying termites and had to retreat to our rooms. In my room that i stayed in, i stepped to the side of the tv to figure out why a wire was dangling and it wasnt working...that's when i fell through the floor. The owner admitted that the hole had been there for some time and that i should not have been in that room. He had a rug over the hole which was open to the outside. I rented a four bedroom house, not a three bedroom. On our second day, after telling the owner about the problems, he tried to extort me into paying an extra $275 fee for my extra employees. I told him that i didn't think that was fair or ethical because the house was not up to expected standards and that i would pay the fee if he fixed the Air conditioning and checked on the bug problem. He refused to compromise and had me and my employees evicted by the police at 7pm. As i have dug deeper into these crooks, I have found that this is a common occurrence. DO NOT RENT
Commentaires de Gestion de l’hôtel
30 mai 2024 par VrboOwner, Gestion de l’hôtel
We had to evict Mr. Dominic Graphia. We tried to communicate with him through vrbo messaging and on his cellphone a few days prior to check in and the day of check in to confirm his guest count party of 2. No response. Mr.Graphia became threatening when requesting to update his guest count, complaining about issues such as AC not working, Termites are in the house, it worried us as we never had these issues and didn’t tell us anything the prior night. We told him we were on our way to address the issue but Mr. Graphia decided to threaten us, erratic behavior letting us know he will ruin our lives if we should charge him for extra guest upon which he punched a hole through the floor in a room that had a bit of a sunken in slat that indeed needed to be fixed but was in no way a danger of tripping or falling but he then said he was going to lawyer up because he’s big company. We called law enforcement as we did not feel safe dealing with him alone. We were informed that Mr. Dominic Graphia from Shreveport and Lafayette had been arrested in the past for Fraud and Theft so we decided to remove him from our property promptly. Stayed at the house ourselves to assure ourselves and our future guests that the AC is working and blowing at 59 which my AC guy says is impressive for it being 98 outdoors and no termites are in the house. Timed and dated proof with videos. Not 1 bad review in 5 years. We have happy repeated visitors. Mr. Graphia was a very unreasonable guest who could not just listen and talked over us including the vrbo agent. Mr. Graphia wanted to host other people at the house without having to pay for it and this seems to be a pattern of Mr. Graphia business and home improvement, taking money from clients and lending companies and not paying them back. Do not trust this persons word. It is clear that regardless where you book you always communicate and enter the correct amount of guests on your booking inquiry and this will always be the final quote. No surprises. Should anyone be worried please read the many positive online reviews and rest assured that we love our home, old bones require a bit more TLC and are always on to the next project whenever time, weather and money permits but which homeowner has no care to give, it’s history and our little small town where word travels fast can speak of it. Our reputation in the area speaks for itself and hope we get to keep this beauty to enjoy for the next generations to come.
