Basic accommodations with excellent Wifi
We stayed 3 weeks. Wi-Fi was excellent, a small car is a must, flies and mosquitoes were a challenge, so we bought netting for our beds. The manager was super kind and brought fresh bananas and figs regularly. We also enjoyed the neighbor dog and cat that visited daily. The accommodations were basic, the biggest downside was the broken-down couch that needs to be replaced.

House in the banana forest
If you don't care about luxury. If you want to spend time in peace and quiet. To be awakened in the morning by the singing of birds and the crowing of cocks. If you like to eat your meals in a garden full of flowers and lots of banana trees. This is the place you are looking for. I recommend!

Warm and welcome hostess at Bananas House
We were made very welcome at this typical Madeira property on the edge of a banana plantation. A slightly unusual layout, with long narrow living room. All essentials were in place plus bread oven and barbeque. Our hostess provided wine, biscuits and fresh bananas on arrival and treated us to dinner in her home. Very responsive and caring owner without being intrusive.

Very clean and tidy house with a well equipped kitchen
We were given a very warm and friendly welcome from the owner who lived next door . We were even invited to Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, being February, and weather was quite chilly this is not a property I would recommend for the winter months. Some form of heating is needed.

Logement simple très propre, difficile d'accès pour une personne handicapée car la maison est en contrebas de la route et l'escalier pour y accéder est raide et irrégulier. Il a été difficile de communiquer avec la propriétaire car elle ne parle que le portugais par contre elle est d'une extrême gentillesse. Bien que le logement comporte 6 couchages il me semble difficile d'y vivre à 6. La vaisselle de table y serait alors insuffisante! Malgré ces petites remarques nous avons passé un excellent séjour!

Gemütliche Wohnung mit persönlichem Kontakt zur Vermieterin
Das Haus liegt an einer Durchgangsstraße, aber die Ferienwohnung ist in UG und daher kaum Verkehrslärm. Parkplatz für die Feriengäste ist vorm Haus, für größere Autos vielleicht schwer einzuparken. Die Küche ist Recht gut eingerichtet zum Kochen, es fehlte ein Backblech und Pfannenwender. Die Vermieterin wohnt im Nachbarhaus und zur Begrüßung gab es einen Bananenlikör mit der Vermieterin, ein gut gefüllter Obstteller stand bereit. Auch am letzten Abend gab es einen Kirschlikör mit der Vermieterin. Die Kommunikation mit Händen und Füßen sowie Übersetzungsapp war anstrengend, aber auch recht lustig. Die Matratzen waren hart, aber nicht unbequem. Insgesamt eine nette Ferienwohnung für Leute, die gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis suchen und nicht den ganz großen Komfort brauchen.

Sehr gute Lage, mitten in einer Bananenplantage. Wie bereits erwähnt, ist die Vermieterin die netteste Frau Madeiras. Für Ausflüge und Wanderungen ein perfekter Standort!

Mit der Unterkunft waren wir sehr zufrieden. Die Vermieterin ist sehr herzlich, hat uns zum Essen eingeladen und uns den ganzen Urlaub reichlich mit Früchten aus eigenem Anbau versorgt. Sie spricht zwar kein Englisch, aber die Verständigung klappt irgendwie trotzdem, sonst hat sie auch einen Bekannten, der perfekt Englisch spricht und alles regeln kann. Die Küche ist überdurchschnittlich gut ausgerüstet, sehr guter Herd, Backofen, Mikrowelle. Wlanverbindung sehr gut, beim Fernseher empfängt man auch deutsche Programme mit sehr guter Qualität. Wenn der Tunnel nach Funchal gesperrt ist, herrscht viel Verkehr auf der Straße. Aber das Haus liegt tiefer als die Strasse, deshalb stört es nicht sehr. Für wärmebedürftige Menschen ist das Haus nachts im Winter etwas kühl, natürlich gibt es keine Heizung. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und können die Unterkunft allen empfehlen, die nicht sehr hohe Ansprüche an die Unterkunft stellen.

Nous recommandons de louer cet appartement : il est exactement comme décrit sur l annonce. La propriétaire est très gentille et elle nous a apporté régulièrement des fruits du pays. L équipement est très satisfaisant. La literie est très bien. L appartement est très propre. En plus on a une place de parking et ce n est pas anodin à Madeira. En tout cas on s ‘est bien reposé : très peu de bruit . Si nous y retournons, nous reprendrons ce logement. Le logement se situe en haut de ponta do sol et on est un peu en campagne. Ceux qui préfère les ambiances nocturnes, il faut plutôt louer vers des villes plus importantes mais plus bruyante. Merci encore à la propriétaire de sa générosité et de son sourire.

Rien que pour la propriétaire, le logement vaut le détour ! Mme Rosario est exceptionnelle de gentillesse et de générosité. Le logement est bien placé sur l'île, très fonctionnel et typique des habitations madériennes. Nous recommandons à 100%.

Between the bananas
Maria's apartment is a good address to stay a couple of days or longer to explore Madeira, especially the west side. The apartment is simple, well-equipped and clean. Free parking place next to the road. No noise nuisance by day and night. Using a car is advisable to go to the centre of Ponta do Sol, the beach, restaurants , supermarket and interesting places elsewhere. It is unique to stay at the patio next to the banana trees. The hostess, Maria Rosário Teixeira, is very sympathetic and cheerful. We can recommend this address without further. Ingrid&Henk Holland

Simple mais propre et bien située pour visiter l'ile
Assez facile de visiter cette ile avec une voiture de location. Temps agréable fin août avec de belles promenades et des baignades dans les piscines naturelles. Accès facile à la propriété mais il faut demander l'adresse précise. Terrasse bien exposée, calme. Accueil sympathique des propriétaires et des habitants.

Wundervoll ursprüngliches Quartier
Das kleine Häuslein liegt direkt am Rand einer Bananenplantage und die Einrichtung erinnert ein wenig an ein Museum. 2 wunderschöne Schlafzimmer mit jeweils großem Bett. Keine geteilten Matratzen und eine große Bettdecke für beide. Und noch ein Schlafzimmer (Eingang durch eines der anderen Schlafzimmer) mit 2 Einzelbetten. ---- Die Lage ist ruhig und doch ganz nah an der Schnellstraße nach Funchal. ---- Die Vermieterin ist vermutlich die herzlichste auf der ganzen Insel. Einfach phänomenal lieb. Wenn irgendwas nicht klappt, findet sie in Minutenschnelle irgendjemanden, der helfen kann. Oft liegt ein Schmankerl vor der Tür. Bananen sowieso, Avocados von ihrem Baum, mal Erdbeeren, Kuchen - 2 x hat sie für uns gekocht. Verständigung ohne Fremdsprachenkenntnisse sind für sie kein Problem. --- Nichts für Leute, die in erster Linie Komfort schätzen doch hinreißend für alle, die - fernab vom Massentourismus - mitten unter den Dorfbewohnern eine Bleibe suchen. Mitunter kommt ein nettes, schwarzes Kätzchen zu Besuch. Obrigado pelo maravilhoso tempo!

Ein wurderbarer Platz, weg vom Tourismusrummel
Es ist ein wunderbarer Platz, um Madeira zu erleben. Das Haus hat alles, was man braucht. Es ist sauber, gepflegt und ruhig. Mietauto ist sehr empfehlenswert. Von hier hat man die ganze Insel gut im Griff. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dieser Wahl. Ingo

Uma estadia a fazer-nos sentir em casa, muito à conta da extrema simpatia e pronta disponibilidade da dona da casa. A repetir, sem dúvida. No mais, a ilha é um espanto e esta zona específica - Ponta do Sol, Ribeira Brava - que nos envolve num imenso bananal, deixa desejos de voltar...brevemente!

Very welcoming and friendly hostess
Upon arrival we were invited for a typical Madeiran lunch prepared by our hostess. Throughout our stay she was very obliging. She gave us lots of fruit from her own garden (bananas, chirimoyas, avocados). The place itself is very spacious.

Great place to be.
The house provides a spectacular view from the hills. Everything is in perfect condition...the kitchen, the pool and all rooms are very nice, clean and well maintained. The land loard Nuno is very friendly and very helpfull...from the booking to all services on-site. The drive up the hill is just 5 minutes ...so, regarding that there is almost no direct sea Access on Madeira anyway, we don't consider this to be a disadvantage. We strongly recommend this place and we have already send the link to many of our friends.
