The place to stay in Poole!

Beautiful house in an ideal location with all the comforts of home plus some. Minutes walk from the centre of the old town/quayside where you’re literally spoiled for tremendous places to eat and drink or get on a boat. The RNLI college is also only minutes away and well worth a visit. Extremely well-stocked honesty mini-bar in the room and a really helpful selection of the toiletries you forgot to bring in the bathroom. And an amazingly detailed folder of all the local information you didn’t know you needed. If/when I return to Poole this is where you’ll find me!

Our stay at quayside quarters was lovely. Jenny was extremely helpful, great location with a short walk to the quay. Room was well equipped with everything we needed. Will definitely recommend and stay again :)

This is a difficult review to write, I really did not want to be negative. The property is in a fabulous spot, close to all amenities, the quay, ferries, buses, trains. No real need to use your car at all. On the Expedia website, this property is described as a 3star bed and breakfast. Reviews also mention a simple but lovely breakfast, one of the main reasons for booking. Unfortunately, they no longer do breakfast. The shower, despite following instructions failed to reach any kind of warm temperature. The mattress was in need of replacement, sagging at sides and in the middle, resulting in very poor sleep and us ending our stay a day early. There were also plumbing issues, however I believe these will be resolved very shortly and Jenny was extremely apologetic. There is a fridge with wine etc in and an honesty box, which is a nice touch but not something we used. Overall, this is a great property and great location but needs a bit of TLC.

Hi Wendy, we are pleased you thought we had a great property in a great location. We used to be called The Quay Old Town Poole B&B (continental breakfast only), over a year ago we changed our name to Quayside Quarters and offered our accommodation on a ‘Room Only’ basis which was clearly stated on your booking. We have 14 breakfast spots within a 5 minute walk and a further 12 within a 10 minute walk, 6 if which overlook the harbour with morning sun. I have spoken with Expedia regarding being described as 3 Star B&B as I have no control over this description and have been advised that they will contact their technical team to remove it. I was surprised when you said the mattress was uncomfortable as we had not received any previous complaints. So we slept in it for the next two nights as that is the only way to test the comfort. I’m afraid I have to disagree with you at this present time, I told the next two guests that we had had a complaint so I just wanted to ensure that they were happy with their sleep and both said it was fine. I shall however continue to monitor it, as if guests do not sleep well we will not last very long. I’m a bit complexed about the shower as you stayed for 3 nights before departing and did not mention the shower to me at all, are you saying that you put up with cold showers for 3 days? The plumbing issue was unfortunate but rectified straight away, the cause was a toilet roll had been dropped in the loo. Instead of contacting us they tried to flush it away, we do not know which of the two rooms caused this problem. When you left a day early, I contacted you to find out if everything was ok and you said that you did not sleep well so I offered to refund you the last night which you duly accepted. I’m sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Kind regards Jenny

A very clean and well decorated room, everything was as described on website, safe parking and very convenient for Poole Quay and ferry terminal.
