Very cosy restaurant
The room very pleasant but needed a gate at top of the stairs, danger of tripping down stairs

Ok for a night.
Posted Sep. 22, 2019 on HotelsThe "sea view" was an optimistic description : the room was at street (& cars) level... not too great in terms of intimacy. See photo.
A courtesy tray would have been a plus. The room was quite small but ok. We didn't "see" the Hotel(s wifi, but there was another open hotspot which worked. We have not tried breakfast.
I summary : it was okay for one night but I would select another location for a longer stay.

We had a small apartment looking out onto a little garden and just a step away from the beautiful wild estuary. We only stayed one night but I loved the place and hope to return one day.

Surly at the seaside
Posted Aug. 10, 2019 on HotelsSurly front ‘desk’ (bar). Made a dinner reservation at check-in which was not relayed to bistro. They were able to seat us and restaurant service was fine. Microscopic but clean room. WAY too expensive for what you receive. This place is not worth what they charge. Does not even include coffee in the morning nor a little machine in room. So many other better places in France!

The checking in procedure was left as guess work. Nobody on site to receive us, telephone numbers not picking up. We eventually found our rooms through an unlocked door and then saw our names on notices on the doors. It would have been better if someone had text or emailed us.

Great small apartment with an attractive decked terrace. Thoughtfully designed and fitted out with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Great breakfasts, especially the coffee, served in the nearby Treize Arches restaurant offering good value for money. Dinner is also delicious and good value!
Clean accommodation, where everything worked and friendly staff. What’s not to like?

Lovely hotel in pretty seaside town
Posted Aug. 26, 2018 on Expedia
Pros: Very nice. Plenty of space, good facilities, and good-sized bath towels!
Cons: Bedrooms were a little dusty behind/beside the beds. Ice box needed de-frosting.
Location: A favourite Normandy seaside town of ours which we know well. Historical sites cover Carolingian baptistery to WW2. Swimming, walking,
Spent a happy 24 hours in Portbail and surrounding areas, and swimming.

Memorable stay!
Posted Jul. 30, 2018 on HotelsLovely inn right on the water in a delightful Norman town! Watching the tides roll in and out is fascinating! And the food is wonderful!
