Cleanliness is the biggest issue here. Towels are stained, floor is dusty, bedlinen stained, etc. condition of all appliances are old and unhygienic, eg timescale stains in kettle and iron. It appears that the management do not care about the condition and cleanliness of anything. Will not recommend to anyone.

Thank you for your response. If you had issues with the cleanliness and facilities, you could have lodged a complaint at the reception. If we do not receive feedback, we cannot fix same. Writing a review after the fact is definately not helpful.

It was carnival time and our prices for the season is extremely reasonable compared to other accommodation available in Port of Spain at that time.

Publié le 13 févr. 2024 sur HotelsThis was a last minute booking during Carnival. It worked out but the bathroom needed a deep cleaning. No wifi in the room!!! You need to goto the lobby for a strong signal. If you need wifi PASS on this place. Or work in the lobby.

Thank you for your comments. Our website only promises wif on the compound. It says nothing about access in the rooms, although sometimes access can be had through the rooms.

I enjoyed my stay and the bed was very comfortable. But I was very disappointed in the Wi-Fi connection. The Wi-Fi connection didn’t connect in my room. They definitely need to invest in a stronger Wi-Fi connection for the whole hotel property.

Your comments are noted. We did experience connection problems in the beginning, but the situation was solved later on.

Severely Outdated, Not Safe, Not Clean,No Internet
Publié le 1 mars 2023 sur HotelsOverall - 1/10 Bad. Paid $4k for 2 Rooms during Carnival. The good: close to food and the staff is friendly, that's it. The Bad: check-in process was efficient but not the greatest. I liked how they treated me like I was a member of their family - I felt welcomed and safe. At the room, entry door handle is shabby and anyone can access any room with a credit card -- huge red flag. Security is downstairs but he's not always there. They did their best to clean, but that was not enough. Spider cobwebs on the lamps, corners, and inside simple-to-reach places like the draws. Lots of draws and closet space but you can't use them because the wood is dilapidated. Phones and the internet in the rooms do not work. Sheets seemed new, but the comforters had rust stains. Bathroom is a nightmare. The shower curtain rings were super-super rusty, along with the water handles. The shower's hot water would turn cold mid-shower, and the water would not drain. Imagine trying to get clean after Jouvert and waiting for ankle-high water to drain so you can clean your feet. The toilet would not flush, so I had to be creative after each #2 -- flush a total of 3+ times until it all disappeared. Overall the hotel is in a state of disrepair or ruin as a result of age or neglect. I learned they've been closed down for a while but reopened about 9 months before Carnival to prepare for the crowd. This is not a hotel; it's more of a salvaged, outdated rental.

Your review is most disheartening as we have just come out of a trying period over the Covid.We tried to put things in place after being closed for an extended period of time and would have appreciated a better review publicly. It would have been only decent to point out where we have fallen short to us in person rather than publicly. We have had lots of problems with guests playing Jouvert and damaging our towels and dirtying the place. I believe that we made an effort to avoid some of this by asking guests to shower out by the pool area before going to their rooms. Of course the mud and dirt WILL clog up the drains.Perhaps giving us an A for trying and for the staff treating you personably would have been better appreciated.However, i thank you for the criticism as we will pay more attention to the items you have pointed out as this will help us to improve.Incidentally, the internet was working periodically but was fixed by Sunday

decent location to carnival but they did not have functioning internet facilities severely outdated

Hello:Thank you for your review. We did experience some internet connection glitches which was rectified later on. Carnival is a time when it is very difficult to have technical persons appear on the compound to fix any problems. We did try very hard to please our guests.I am not sure what facilities you refer to as outdated. Kindly email us at admin@royalpalm.co.tt with your concerns. Suggestions on upgrades are most appreciated.

The rooms were not clean, basic facilities like toiletries were not readily available. It was pretty bad.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay at the hotel. We try our best to please our customers even at a very stressful time during the carnival season. We made special effort to have the rooms cleaned but guests had a lot of things scattered in their rooms which made cleaning virtually impossible. Housekeeping hours are done by 6pm and many persons requested no service and later changed their minds after 6pm, which made things very difficult. The hotel does not provide shampoo and personal toiletries
