Good location and value

First was a sticky patch on the nightstand from a glass and the second was the amount of time to retrieve my car from valet. I was told to text and would be 10 to 15 minutes to get my car. Ended up being almost an hour and I am sure it would have been longer had I not asked when it was coming. The hotel is in a good walkable location, king bed with a couch meant my room was comfortable and spacious, and the decor is fresh and new. Overall for the price I was really happy with AC Marriot but the valet would have been better if it wasn't $49 a night, considering the wait to get my car and I didn't need the in/out privileges.

The AC Marriott Downtown is a solid hotel with an EXCELLENT staff. The lobby, bar, and rooms are clean and tidy. I was initially disappointed to find our rooms right off of the elevators (ugh!), but was pleasantly surprised by the soundproofing of the doors. Not thick enough to block the boisterous evening conversation of our next door neighbors when they came in for the evening, but I did NOT hear the elevator dinging or opening and closing all night. Definite plus! It’s only a couple of blocks from the light rail and bus stops, so it’s super-easy to get anywhere in town. Each room has a mini fridge and coffee maker, and there is a communal microwave in the lobby. The Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen around the corner is dynamite. I’m docking a star just for general wear-and-tear of general small things and not-awesome bathroom toiletries. The toiletry holder in our shower was broken (not a big deal), and the conditioner was…not conditioning. (I thought the AC properties were supposed to have Korres products?) I’m not trying to be snobby, but I usually love Marriott toiletries, and therefore don’t pack my own, and it’s an unpleasant surprise to have crazy hair because the toiletries are bunk. But considering that is the harshest criticism I have for this hotel, I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others! Solid 4-4.5 stars out of 5!

Best hotel I’ve stayed at in Portland. The price was so great I was in shock on how nice/elegant the building was. Me and my girlfriend had the best times of our life. Next time I come into town I’m coming back to them. 10/5 stars

Room had no view, just could see the roof. Stay was fine.

The hotel itself is nice but had some issues. First I was not given the room I booked. They said they were oversold on that type of room so had to wait until the next day to get that room, so there was the hassle of moving my room. Also parking if very expensive so having to find other parking at reasonable rates is another inconvenience. 3rd, watch your bill because due to an error my bill was almost double. The front desk agent said it was because of a refundable deposit being added which didnt sound right to me as the numbers still didnt add up. He was quite adamant about it. Only at the very end he said he would get the manager who fixed the error. Didn't enjoy having to argue about the bill. No compensation for the hassle of moving rooms. They treat you second class for booking thru expedia instead of them. The service at the buffet was great though and manager was nice. Not sure Id come back though due to these issues.
