Portland Sanctuary

Modern mid century boho chic two bedroom apartment unit in a gorgeous private craftsman bungalow home built in 1910. The unit is spacious, cool and provides ample room for a cozy stay. You will find new appliances in both the bathroom and kitchen. Both bedrooms are outfitted with tempurpedic mattresses and clean linens and towels and accented with local Pendleton prints. Backyard is shared. We do have chickens in the backyard and if you like fresh eggs we are happy to drop off some off. There is a slight additional cost for pets and 5th guest. Please inquire.

A lovely stay
It is a very comfortable, well decorated unit with a great kitchen. You need a flashlight better than a phone flashlight at night and a sticky lint brush. The couch sheds, and it was not enough to brush it off as it ended up on the floor and the legs of our pants. Enjoyed staying there.

Our stay was great. The property was very private even with being a basement apartment. The place was close enough to walk to most of the places we wanted to go to while staying in Portland! The neighborhood seemed safe. The host was very sweet as well. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Felt Right at Home
We had a great stay in Veronika's apartment! It was super comfortable and made us feel right at home. Even her lovely chickens that greeted us each time we came out, reminded us of our own! Based on the description, I was a little surprised by the dark basement feel at first, but the plentiful lighting and comfortable furnishings transformed the space. It had nearly every amenity we needed. Plus, the little backyard is lovely and the neighborhood is very conveniently located. We didn't have any issues with parking. Communication with Veronika was great, and she had excellent recommendations for our stay. If I had any suggestions for improvement, it would be better lighting along the side yard path - it was a bit difficult to navigate in the dark, so we armed ourselves with flashlights. Also, we missed having a full size coffeepot, or perhaps pods - took a while & made a mess trying to get 3 coffee drinkers going in the mornings with just a small press. Luckily, Starbucks is right at the end of the block!

Fantastic
We stayed for 6 nights with our 22 year old daughters and recommend Veronika’s place wholeheartedly. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood but near to some great areas to explore, good restaurants in the Alberta area, but also an easy drive into central Portland. Everything was lovely and clean, the kitchen has everything you need and more and the beds are sooooo comfortable. The garden is a joy to spend time in, lots of beautiful shrubs and flowers, a lovely space to relax and watch the hummingbird. Veronika provided fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast and was a super host, really responsive and great to chat to about the local area. Thanks Veronika, if we come back to Portland we’ll be in touch!

A bit disappointed
The apartment itself was very nice, with new floors being recently added. Area was spacious. Suprised it was a basement apartment. Have reread the description and do not see that noted. Not the best situation for those in our group with allergies. Laundry is on site, but in a shared space that is a very cluttered storage room. Outside area is very overgrown, having to duck to avoid branches on the way to the apartment. On street parking was readily available and the location was great. Again, the space was great, just wish it had been clear it was a basement.

Quiet, clean living space in cozy neighborhood
My parents and mother-in-law stayed here for a weekend to celebrate their granddaughter's graduation! It was perfect. I didn't think we understood the space was a basement but, it was completely as described and had everything we needed. The back patio is truly a wonderful little sanctuary. Highly recommended.

lovely weekend
My daughter and I enjoyed our Mother's Day trip to Portland. We had plenty of space! The kitchen was nice even though we didn't use it much. The patio was adorable and the landscaping was super nice. We had a nice chat with Veronika, too. Highly recommend!
