absolute nightmare, very unsafe, basically a squat

Publié le 29 nov. 2021 sur Hotels
This was the worse hotel/bnb experience of our lives and we've stayed in 100s of places. No one was there to greet us. We called and over the phone they told us to go in the house and find a room. The doors were open for anyone on the street to walk in. It was raining and water was coming in thru the open doors which we spent 15 minutes cleaning up. Then these unfriendly rough-looking guys showed up, day-laborers using this is a boarding house/squat. None of them were wearing masks and they were smoking cigarettes. They were rude to us and shut themselves in the kitchen so we couldn't access it. We texted the landlady and she did not respond. We tried to go to sleep but heard all sorts of different men coming and going, at 1 a.m., slamming doors and talking loud, and they all had terrible coughs. We were afraid to go out there because of covid exposure. Then at 5 a.m. they all got up and slammed doors and talked loud, we could smell cigarettes coming under door. We put a towel under the door and considered escaping out the window as we were afraid of exposure or confronting these men. We left before it even got light and when we told the landlady we were leaving and shouldn't have to pay, she told us it was the most "unpleasant" experience of her life, even though she was never there! We never saw anyone managing the place, all doors were open, we don't know who these men were, it was like it had turned into a squat for workers since the doors were open.

A lot of lies trying to justify themselves as they run out without paying: these guests spent the night in our B&B and left the morning after without any warning, we didn’t receive any alert while they were in the house, so it’s clear that this offensive review was part of their scrounging plan. Just to be clear, the "unfriendly rough-looking guys” are actually very good mannered guests and regular customers, unlike the authors of this review.

Perfetto

We stayed for four nights at the end of October and absolutely loved B&B Sa Cruxitta. Situated on the sea front in Portoscuso, a quiet marina town in the south west of Sardinia, the B&B is a perfect base for exploring this area of the island, especially with free parking out front for our rental car. From here, you can easily visit the islands of Sant'Antioco and San Pietro, the towns Iglesias and Carbonia, the stunning belvedere of Nebida and the stunning beach and sand dunes in Porto Pino. Signora Carmen was a fantastic host who looked after us well. Although she only speaks a little English, she was still able to give us lots of great tips on where to visit during our stay and made us feel exceptionally welcome. Our room was spacious and clean, the breakfasts were varied and delicious and the view from the front of the building is stunning. There is not a massive amount to see and do in Portoscuso, it is not a big tourist resort. There are just a few shops, restaurants and bars (some closed out of season), but there is a fantastic beach within walking distance along the beautiful coastline. We found it to be perfect for us. Do not be put off by the Port Talbot-esque industrial area on the drive into the town - it is pretty much out of sight once in Portoscuso itself! We would recommend B&B Sa Cruxitta to anyone.
