We decided a couple of weeks ago to add a day at Hampton Beach onto our camping trip, to get to the ocean and have our fill of seafood for the summer. The only hotel/motel within walking distance of the beach was the Flagship, so we paid the $300 for one night. The staff are very friendly and the location is ideal (10 minute walk to the beach and boardwalk), but the hotel condition is not worth a 19 hour stay (check in at 3pm, check out at 10am). New bed frames and dresser, but the kitchen sink (also the bathroom sink outside of the bathroom) detached from the wall, broken window glass, missing screen from the bathroom window, the microwave is so antiquated that I took a picture, and the gap between the door/doorframe make it easy to break into the room. I know we shouldn't have expected much, but at $300/night x 20 (or 30) rooms, those little upgrades can be made to upgrade this motel ever so slightly.
