Bring your slippers!
Publié le 13 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe rented this property for a weekend birthday getaway. I loved how secluded the property is and yet close to freeway access. The house has newer appliances, was very clean and had a great outside space. There are hard floors throughout, so bring your slippers if you tend to get chilled easily.

They really under sell the view
Publié le 8 déc. 2023 sur HomeAwayI stayed at this property over Thanksgiving with my spouse and nibblings while we visited with our family that lived in the area. We arrived really late in the evening on our check in date with no trouble getting in. The next morning we were surprised with an incredible view of the Hood Canal and Mount Olympus that was totally undersold in the property description. Our stay was overall okay, there were several issues that we had while we were there but the property management company was pretty responsive to the issues we had and did what they could to fix them.

Johnson Road View House
Publié le 5 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayGreat view, but house not well maintained. Problems closing and opening doors (house seems to be settling). Got trapped in Master Bedroom twice because latch would not turn - door was stuck.
We were able to open bedroom windows for ventilation, but the window screens and sills were very dirty.
Kitchen light above sink is wired in violation of the electrical code, and does not work consistently.
My grandson (60 lbs) who was visiting for the day sat on a dining room chair and fell through the caned bottom (I have a photo). There was a pillow on each of the four chairs covering the cane, and the cane on this chair had a hole across the entire seat. He was not hurt.
Could have used a few more forks (there were only 4).
We ended up leaving a day early.

Artistic furnishings, great view!

We loved sitting outside watching the sun go down at night and the private fenced yard was perfect for my grandson It was very well stocked with everything we needed and had a lot of toys for our 3 year old. The carpets were stained, but overall it was clean and very nice.

It really is all about the view!

It could benefit from a little more attention to cleaning (windows, dusting) and details like replacing burned out bulbs, but overall it was fine. Don't forget to bring binoculars! We spent a lot of time on the deck and saw eagles, herons, a playful sea lion, the dorsal fins of pair of porpoises, and even a submarine. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bed frame makes a terrible creaking noise, so if you're light sleeper the noise will wake you. The kitchen is adequately equipped, but I would recommend bringing a non-stick skillet as the one there is unusable. No instructions on how to use the gas fireplace, so hopefully the host will remedy that before the weather gets too cold!

Not the best, deceived by advertising

Tons of spots and cigarette burns. People have smoked in this house, the house smelled. I have asthma this was not good. Coffee maker broken and disgusting. Had to buy a new one. TV doesn’t work, not even local channels. No directions as to how things worked. No fans very warm in afternoon and evening. No comfortable chairs to sit on only a couch. No water access. Great view and that is about it! Felt that we were deceived by advertising.

Please know that this is not the standard grade of presentation that we provide, and that we take your feedback seriously. We apologize for any oversights regarding cleanliness, and we appreciate you reaching out to our 24/7 Guest Services line for assistance. Our home has a strict no-smoking policy that we take very seriously; if prior guests were smoking in the home they were violating our policy. We have followed up with the local staff regarding your experience so they make work with the homeowner on preventative measures. The coffee maker has since been replaced. We make every effort to ensure our home is reflected clearly and accurately through our listing information in order for guests to make informed rental decisions. While there is a TV in the home with a DVD player, cable is not advertised as an available amenity. The owners have provided an array of DVDs to choose from and this home is very close to local video stores if you wish to pick out your own! Although the home is waterfront there is no access point to the beach. This home is on a cliff and has an amazing view, but access is fenced off as it would be dangerous to make the trip down to the water. We hope you will allow us a second chance to impress you in the future!

Beautiful house and location

Quiet, beautiful log cabin retreat
Publié le 26 avr. 2021 sur HomeAwayWe loved the log cabin interior and the view of the Olympic Mountains is spectacular. The new deck is spacious and solid, and, although we did not need it, the fenced yard is perfect for pets and kids. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking. The main bedroom has lots of storage space and the bed was very comfortable. The steps down into the bedroom were ok for us but would make it difficult for folks with mobility issues. My husband was handy enough to get the gas fireplace going, which was the only source of heat in the living/dining room. It was cold out and so it was difficult to stay warm at times. There were instructions to start a load of towels before leaving, but there was no laundry detergent. It was a lovely stay and we would love to come back in warmer weather.
