Un hôtel peu à notre goût pour une étape d'une nui
Publié le 6 oct. 2019 sur HotelsLa première chose à dire concernant le Old Courthouse Inn est qu'il se trouve directement placé derrière une usine à papier. Si cela ne nous a pas gêné pour dormir, c'est vraiment dommage car l'usine cache la vue de la jolie baie de Powell River.
Ensuite, c'est un hôtel dit "boutique", en hommage à la mère du propriétaire et aux années 50: c'est un amoncellement de meubles et d'objets pas particulièrement beaux mais qui ont en commun le fait d'être vieux. Il en résulte une odeur de poussière et de vieillerie, des dessus de lit et des coussins douteux, peu à notre goût. Et ce d'autant plus que c'est un hôtel parmi les plus chers, sinon le plus cher, de toute la ville.

I am not sure how to respond. I guess I will listen to the 99% of our guests who love what we have done and are doing with our beautiful inn. Sorry it wasn't to your tastes or standards. Maybe try The Ritz Carlton?

The Old Courthouse Inn was a great base for our hiking trip on the Sunshine Coast Trail, it's close to the float plane airport and right by the trail. The restaurant Edie Rae's had excellent food and Kelly the Inkeeper was a great host, I'd recommend it to anyone staying in Powell River.

Quaint historical comfortable,and very unique. Breakfast was cobbled together as the restaurant was closed on Mondays!

Service was great. Room was perfect for us. It had a nostalgic feel but had good WiFi and all the necessary amenities. The included breakfast was really delicious and the breakfast service was top notch. I’d go just to eat breakfast there.

Rooms were very pretty, lots of antiques, super clean, comfy beds, air conditioner, coffee pods in the rooms, brewery and restaurants across the street. Self check-in, self check-out. Great cooked to order full breakfast in the hotel, with excellent friendly service.

Liked the history and fact it was not just another bland hotel room. The room was great, nespresso machine for morning coffee and their were muffins available to tide you over to breakfast.

A glorious old Powell River hotel, beautifully preserved and sympathetically loved. Kelly clearly has a love for the place. TheTownsite brewery and tasting room nearby added to the pleasure, as did the very finely spiced foods at the Royal Zakya restaurant up the hill.

The owner/manager was there to greet us and show us to our room. He showed us how the tv worked and when the restaurant was open and the room with extra snacks and irons etc. very super helpful. Our night included breakfast and it was a choice of a number of full choices with a beverage included. The waitress was friendly and helpful and received her due tip! 10/10 everything included.

Couldn't find any Shampoo?
The soap on the wall of the shower was not good for Shampoo.
Every else good and the breakfast was excellent.
Best breakfast I've ever had where breakfast was included in the room price.
