It was a last minute need to sleep place. The owner waited for us to arrive 9pm to check us in. Was very appreciative but the check in convo was extremely uncomfortable. Not only were we in the middle of no where at a motel, after telling him we were hockey parents, he said oh you just be rich then tried to keep asking more personal questions related to our belongings.
Not only was the room over priced, there was no heat in main room, no weather guards on doors and overall extremely run down. It was 241.82 a night!!!!! Little did we know, there is a sandman 900 meters away for half the price. Expedia did not show us the option when choosing. #teamsandman

Yikes, sounds like you stumbled upon the Bates Motel's distant cousin! Sorry to hear about your uncomfortable check-in experience and the Arctic conditions in the room.
