Great location and view

The only drawback is the interior and decoration, a little dated for my taste. Washer /dryer a nice plus to have. Comfortable and large bed.

The interior is typical Hawaiian. Majority of the furniture is less than 4 years old.

Publié le 15 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe views from this property were amazing and communication with the owner was great. We very much enjoyed having coffee on the little patio in the morning. The location was excellent for exploring the north side of the island.
The unit itself felt a little worn and lacked many amenities we found at other places around the island - decent pots and pans, mixing bowls, tupperware, tinfoil, etc., which made it difficult to cook.
It is relatively small space - there is a folding room divider separating the kitchen table from the bed and no door on the outer part of the bathroom where the sink is. The washer and dryer are in the kitchen. It felt kind of jumbled, like there wasn't enough space for everything. Overall, we had a nice time here but it wasn't one of my favorites.

The condo is 600 sq ft as are all the other one bedrooms in Sealodge. It is rented to just 2 people with a king size bed. You can separate the bedroom with an accordion door next to the dining room and you can shut a regular door which goes to the bathroom vanity and on to the kitchen. That gives the bedroom some privacy if needed. The shower and the toilet are in a room with a door that closes. The vanity and sink are outside this door. Why you would need privacy at the bathroom sink and mirror I don't know? There is a full sized washer and dryer plus closet behind another accordion door in the dining room, not in the kitchen. There have been no other complaints about the pots and pans. There are mixing bowls in the cupboard. Tin foil comes and goes as people buy it to bbq. It's not something we supply. If there is no tupperware, I will purchase some when I'm there in a couple weeks. The pictures show the kitchen, dining. bedroom etc. so I'm not sure why you were confused about this. Other complexes around the north shore are larger one bedrooms, however, they just don't have the views that Sealodge does. It's your choice on what you want more.

Kauai vacation

A Stargazers Dream
Publié le 19 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe night skies in Hawaii have always been a treat for me as there is just way too much light pollution at home to see anything of note, but even more so this year as this unit provides a clear and unobstructed view of the north and northeast night sky from the lanei with no local lighting to spoil it.
Indeed, the week of my stay, Pleiades, the entire Orion's constellation (including the the Orion Nebula!) and Taurus were visible with the naked eye. In fact, the skies were so dark that I was able to take legible pictures of it all with my cell phone which is completely unheard of.
Jupiter and Mars were also present the entire week and being able to stare at it all for as long as I wanted two steps from the door wall was a gift from the Universe that I will never forget.
As far as the area, there are restaurants and shops aplenty in the immediate Princeville vicinity, and even more in nearby Hanalei.
Kapa'a is only 30 minutes away and is loaded with shops and restaurants and I made that drive multiple times during my time there without issue. There is also a path along the waterfront there and you can rent a bike or walk it until your heart is content...or your feet hurt, whichever comes first. lol
All in all, Kauai did not disappoint and this condo with its amazing views of the ocean and Earth's wonderful nighttime sky was the star of the show.

Timothy never stayed at the condo. He booked one night. I sent him the Welcome Letter with directions, door code etc. and verified with him that he received it. He said he emailed me many times that night, however, I received none of them. Somehow he managed to email me the morning after to tell me he didn't have the information and couldn't get in. I was shocked. I even refunded him half the rent, the taxes, half the booking fee and the cleaning fee because I felt bad for him. This is how he repays me over 3 months later.
