Didnt let me check in because ther debit machine was broken and left me stranded do not stay here, horrible service

That isn't true. You said you you were not aware of the security deposit. We explained that it was on the site and that a message was sent to you on EXPEDIA. You insisted that you needed to cancel: we explained the cancellation policy, which was also posted on the site. you stated that you would take it up with EXPEDIA and you left.

Disappointing stay

Very dissapointed, property is not well cared for. A smoke alarm beeped all three days I was there despite asking management to fix, 2 of 3 bulbs in bathroom were out making it very dark. Product in the shower had no soap, disappointing you pay an amount for property management and things all around are well below any reasonable standard. The only plus I have is the bed was comfortable, AC worked well and room was reasonably acceptable.

We are sorry to hear that you had these issues. It would have been interesting to know to whom these issues were reported and how they were reported, as they were not reported to management. They are simple issues that would have been easily addressed.We will, however, still look into these issues, with the intention of correcting same.

They were very accommodating- our fridge broke and they brought a mini fridge the same day. Was a short drive to Grace bay beach area. Plenty of parking on site. Didn’t use the pool or grill.

Similar to many of the previous reviews, i had a horrible experience. I rented this place Dec 7-10 2023- the place was nice as described. I paid the security deposit. 3 days after checking out, my security deposit was still on hold. I called to find out when the funds would be released and was told in 3-7 days. I called multiple times during this period to inquire about the removal of my funds and was told by an agent of Checkers Vacation Home that "that's what they [Checkers Vacation Home] do however i will be refunded. " On the 8th day, my funds still weren't released so i called again to follow up. I was then told by Debbie my refund was held for smoking. I have never smoked in my life and the one visitor i had was never there without me and did not smoke either. I do not recall seeing any smoke detectors on the premises nor cameras or anyway that they would be able to know without a doubt if i did smoke. I was told “it was my word against the housekeeper”. I reached out to expedia. They told me that the owners refused to refund the money and there was nothing they could do. And though there was no proof it was still maintained that I violated the owners' policy - which i did not. I am incredibly upset by the owners' greed and blatant dishonesty. I do not recommend staying here for fear that this can happen again.

We are sorry to hear about your experience. You did call the office to query the charges, and was was told by the manager, that we would look into the matter and get back to you within 48 hours, in which time, we would have been able to do further investigation into the matter. However, by the following day, this review was published.

Hi Winston,Thanks for your review. I do apologize for the inconvenience. However, within an hour of you reporting this, the issues were resolved; you were removed to another unit and given another remote. Hope to host you again.
