A fair choice for Pondy, which lacks good hotels
Publié le 13 août 2024 sur HotelsAlways surprised that Pondicherry does not have any decent, modern, full-facility five-star hotels, given Marriott and GRT have opened great top-notch hotels in Trichy and Madurai etc. This is quieter than the Accord, though also on a busy street. Two issues seem to get mentioned in the comments: hair in bedding and bad smells. I encountered both, after accidentally lifting the bottom bed sheet to see some long black hairs stuck to mattress lining. The smell from carpet area was tolerable but noticeable. Breakfast was good, but really disliked the loud jazz music being played at that time. Indoor pool area is limited and not as good as photos suggest. Felt quite stuffy. Steam room not free for general guests. Fine for a night, but I wouldn't be planning a holiday here. Too far from anywhere nice, like a beach or park. Right off chaotic street. Photos are misleading!

Properties and room were clean and well maintained. Staff were courteous . 1 km from white town . Property is not at white town and in middle of extremely crowded shopping area, not at all desirable area. Room floor 4 and below have carpet and has strong camphor odor . Odor was so strong that it was not livable . We have to change the room to floor 5 which has hardwood flooring and no odor. Hotel management were kind enough to accommodate us by giving two club rooms.

Amazing property, room is super clean and staff are very friendly, breakfast is amazing quality of the hotel and room is excellent.
