service peu avenant.

Casa Playa Man a family business, outstanding

Small, family-run, boutique style hotel - just 6 rooms! You are greeted personally and the staff goes out of their way to assist with any request you have. Rooms are spotless and the room decks are wonderful for sunset views from your hammock :) Walkable to town and right on Playa Mann, this was an excellent place to stay. I highly recommend!

Amazing Stay here! Everyone was very nice, helpful and welcoming from Jose, Mariana and the rest of the staff. Great location near beautiful beaches and hikes, short walk to all the restaurants in town. Highly recommend !

There are not enough stars to properly rate Casa Playa Mann! The location is great, the grounds are wonderful, we loved the breakfasts, but the standouts are truly the staff. It's a family-owned business and I cannot say enough about them. They were so helpful with recommendations and arrangements. Every single person we spoke with was amazing; they truly went above and beyond. I would never consider staying anywhere else on the island!

Best location in town.

I do not recommend this hostel. We asked for a different room right away because the only one small window it had was pointing into reception and breakfast area “garden view “and they said no. The morning after we arrived loud noises waked us up in the morning, right in front of our window we saw 30 people having some sort of conference, talking loud and applauding. The air conditioner was right above the bed blowing in your face, it was very old and loud as a helicopter and had a bright light. The shower drain was barely working. I had dirty water up to my ankles. You are not allowed to flush any toilet paper and are required to put used toilet paper in the garbage. There was mold in the closet and it smelled. The “safe” a $15 unit from Walmart. Small black bugs appeared all over my clothes. Our room smelled horrible. Can’t open windows because the screen had big holes in it and bugs would destroy us. We asked for no cleaning and Jose argued with me and said it is mandatory and they need to inspect the room every day for bugs! One day we asked to only change our towels, but when we came we noticed the room smelled like toxic bug spray. I got sick and nauseous right away. The conditions were totally unbearable and unsafe. We left 5 days early. The hotel refused to answer our request to refund us for the rest of the days we did not use. Expedia was unable to refund us the $600 . The laundry service I used there destroyed my $140 Tommy Bahama shirt. Two thumbs down!

Hello Garrett, thanks for having chosen on first place. Please accept our deep apologies for not having fullfill your expectaionts. However, I need to clarify some of your statements:1. We were always friendly and open to talk with you, but since your arrival you had a negative attitude and avoid respectful communication with us. Maybe because you came from Ucraine your english was not so good and we had some communication limitations? 2. You booked with a promo code from an external online travel agency website for 8 nights, and as soon as you arrived you requested a free upgrade to an Ocean view room for all the stay, which we were not able to accept since we were fully booked for that week. And in any case, that request was out of place and was not an acceptable request. 3. We have just done updates in our rooms, there are no holes in the windows, the showers work perfectly, air-conditioner is new, safe-box is new and not cheap (we do not have Walmart in Ecuador and Galapagos. So your statements are again not true. 4. I am sorry to say this, but we noticed you were constantly fighting with your partners and constantly in bad mood, so if you were having a difficult personal moment, there is little we can do to help. We respect your privacy, but it is not fair if you put a load on our small family business sharing statements that are not truth at all just because you were not having a good time in general for personal reasons during all your trip. 5. It is true that we had a meeting one day with a group from a university, who came to learn about local businesses and sustainability. This happened at 11:00am, and they were not noisy but yes there was chatting in an area far from your room. In any case, I am sorry about that, we truly did not noticed you were still sleeping until 11:00am, as most guests are out enjoying the island, which we never saw you as you prefered to stay in the room all day. 6. We take cleaning of our facilities very seriously, you refused room cleaning but one day in your room we found food all around the floor, and therefore ants were entering in the room, which we anticipated during the check-in, we clearly explained that this is a tropical island and insects are part of the environment, but since you did not mantained the room clean we had to do some basic cleaning to avoid more ants entering in your room. We did not use any pesticide, we only use a mild lemon-grass solution which is very soft and locally produced. 7. We did not get any refund request from the online travel agency, that is also not true. When you decided to leave you were really agressive and rushing, we offered you actually different ways of helping you improving your experience, including a refund, but you did not wanted to talk, you totally refused to have a calm conversation and you left us without any chance to communicate anymore, unfortunadely very rude behaviour on your side. We were respectful and open to listen your requests, but

Casa Playa Mann is the best family owned boutique hotel I have ever experienced and I have stayed at many around the world.
The brother and sister who own and manage it treated me like family throughout my 4 night stay with them. Jose even went to a pharmacy for some medicine when I was feeling unwell.
The casa is immaculately clean and the rooms very comfortable.
