Très bon séjour

Une grande chambre très propre et confortable, le mall est à 5mn à pied et des hôtes très accueillants.

This hotel is clean, comfortable, quiet, well run, and the fit and finish of everything is great. A refreshing change from the other well worn hotels. I highly recommend this place for a stay in Puerto Princesa.

Super owners

Owners went above and beyond. The street access is not pretty, but location is central and walking distance to lots of places to eat. Nice base for the tour in Puerto Princesa.

Likes: The room was impeccably clean (the floor was so shiny it seems like you could eat off it), very clean bathroom, strong AC, good wifi, and the owners were so nice and gracious and helpful. They do an airport pick-up and they help book tours and the shuttles. They bring breakfast to you so you can dine on your private patio. One small quibble was the hot water supply. Because the heater is solar there is plenty of hot water during the daylight hours. Not so much at night or early morning. But this being a tropical country, even the cold shower wasn't really all that cold. Not a deal-breaker for me. I would stay here again.

Kind and caring staff. One was waiting for us in the airport and showed us the city on the way to the house. Room was super clean and airconditioning good and quiet. Breakfast is simple but meeted our expectations.

Super godt sted

Super rent og pænt sted, med nogle rigtig gode og venlige værter. Vi fik hjælp til at arrangere ture og fik gratis lufthavnstransport. Der er god beliggenhed med mad steder i nærheden og et stort shoppingcenter i nærheden. God morgenmad som blev serveret til døren på aftalt tidspunkt, og er tilberedt efter ønske.

Hosts were very helpful and pleasant. Very nice couple. Wi-Fi was excellent. Very clean, spacious and functional. Balcony where we ate breakfast had a good vibe with the garden view and morning sun. Overall, we were glad to have stayed there and we’ll stay again and for sure to tell friends and family about how wonderful this place was. Transfer to the airport was a good deal.

Hidden Treasure

The Golden Pension House is a hidden gem! It is in a nondescript neighborhood but close to the airport and shops and restaurants and the property itself is secure, nicely appointed and VERY clean and up-to-date. This was our first stay in the Philippines that was well-lit and provided adequate towel racks. We loved that it had a fridge an a kitchen sink and pot to boil water. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated the free pick-up from the airiport and when we offered a tip, the driver refused, saying it's okay; it's free! Breakfast was made to order and delivered promptly at the requested time and there was a nice, clean little table on the front patio where we were able to enjoy eating it. Our host offered and booked for us a shared van transport to El Nido for a reasonable price and they picked us up right there at the property. Not the fault of the hosts, but the van ride was very crowded, everyone's luggage barely fit and the driver drove VERY fast and recklessly. It was a harrowing trip and the drive made two stops that seemed excessively long. Again, this was an issue with the van company, not the property or the hosts. The only issue was that the beds were hard and although sheets were provided, we could have used a blanket as well. Overall, a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay! We would definitely stay again.

Good no frills hotel short on some aspects

This is a 4 star review for a very short overnight stay. Room: comfortable bed with strong air conditioning. Working fridge. Bathroom did not have any soap at all, only shampoo(?). This costs pennies and is expected at all times in hotel. There was no water bottle provided in the room which is a first for our stays in Southeast Asia. The room was spotless. With just a bit of improvement on stocking the room to a five star standard this hotel will be five stars at its price point. Service: such amazing service I almost rate five stars despite the lackings in the room. The airport pickup was prompt and very appreciated. My partner forgot his passport on the plane and they were so kind to drive him back in a panic so that he could get it back before our early next day departure. The breakfast is delicious including sausage, rice, bread, and eggs. The coffee is instant but I thought it was some of the best instant coffee I’ve ever had. They organized a transfer to El Nido for us and it was a good price but I had a problem as I am incredibly tall and we were the last to arrive to the pickup point and had the worst seats in the front middle next to the driver. All of this despite leaving at 7:50 when we were told it was at 8-9am the night before. I think the hotel should help its guests arrive early enough to get good seats, and when they receive commission on a booking, it should be done so that their guests can be comfortable and arrive on time for good seats.

Hi Jacob,We’re grateful for your overnight stay at our place,the Golden Pension House.Your review of our Pension House is also appreciated.We’re sorry for any inconvenience during your stay at our place.With regards to the issue of the water bottle, we usually provide free bottle water on arrival of each our guests and daily breakfast.Bar Soaps,we provide per request,since almost all of our guests don’t use it.El Nido transfers,we assist with booking per request of our guests and if they have any specific requests.We don’t have control of the transportation arrival time and route.We convey to our guests the time line they provided.Sometimes they will arrive early than the time provided or late since they go around to pick up all the passengers.
