Your tropical beach paradise getaway
Casa Kiara in Sayulita, is a charming, completely private, casual and unpretentious beach house. Steps away from the sand at the quiet North end of Sayulita, it boasts indoor and outdoor living at its best. Palapas and infinity pool, nestled amongst the tropical landscaping, create a little oasis. A quick cab ride, or 15/20 minute walk into town along the road, or the beach, makes it just far enough away from the maddening crowd.
Take a jog or mountain bike ride through the jungle path right next door, or wander over to the next completely deserted beaches. Enjoy exquisite sunsets and the sound of the waves at your front door. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. This property is not safe for young children.
Canât believe we got to stay on the beach for this price! The property is so unique and weâll cherish the memories forever. We were a little surprised by how easily outside critters could access the property - they were in each night going through garbage, hot water and shower products were also on the light side for the price point, but otherwise great!
This is an amazing place to stay. It is like staying in an outdoor treehouse. We rented two golf carts and went into town a short drive and got breakfast/lunch/dinner and it was nice to have some peace to ourselves here. Went to the Friday market and got not enough fresh squeezed juices to make drinks for the week, so amazing! Walked to town once, took me 12 minutes on the beach. Also walked to the secret beach, just north of here and also helped look for turtle nests, we got to see a baby from a nest make its way into the ocean. We loved it. Family of 5 with ocean experience, the waves were harsh, but we had fun swimming in the ocean, wouldn't recommend smaller kids. Our family, 2 college boys and a 13 year old girls with 10 years of swim lessons. Would stay here again!!
This is a beautiful home in a great location.
We enjoyed our stay. We appreciated Jewel, the property manager, the gardener, pool cleaner and the housekeeper who all took great care of us.
The driveway is very very steep. We had a few people try to come tot he home - chef, transportation, etc and they couldnât access the home because of the driveway. Just a heads up!
We loved our stay! The owners were so nice, and Jewel the property manager was wonderful and so quick to respond if we needed help. The house, pool, and property were wonderful! Highly recommend spending a vacation here! Also using the suburbans and golf cart were key!!
The house is exactly as described and a lovely back area on the ocean. You do need to be ready for a more open environment (incredibly loud waves at night can be very soothing....or not....) and we did have a visitor from a Tejones (badger type animal) looking for food we had in the garbage. Also, it is VERY IMPORTANT to lock the front door at all times...unfortunately my fanny pack was taken but it was our fault...we were given explicit instructions to do that and we forgot one sunset evening enjoying our gin and tonics in the back private beach.
Jewel (property manager) and owner are extremely caring and helpful....Jewel is an incredible asset to the house and helped us when we had an unexpected medical situation and available virtually all the time. The levelor doors of the downstairs bedroom does not open (it is broken) but everything else was in great working order. Get the golf cart!! It totally makes a difference in getting around. Probably like much of the homes in Sayulita, there is is only one faucet with treated water in the kitchen, but they provide plenty of jugs of treated water in kitchen area and bathrooms.
Wonderful, unique home in a peaceful location. The house is absolutely gorgeous with many seating areas both inside and outside to enjoy the oceanfront views. The pool is a nice size and the elevated beach pad out front is the perfect place to watch the waves and catch sunsets. The kitchen is well-equipped and the lovely staff and management ensure that your stay is carefree. Rent a golf cart for easy access central Sayulita. Highly recommend this home!
What a fabulous house! We are a family of 5 with 3, 20 something kids and it was perfect. This house was so unique - it is enclosed but the upstairs is like a tree house! You canât beat sitting in the pool looking directly at the ocean! I loved that this property was almost at the end of the beach so it was very private. Renting a golf cart was a great idea to zip around and really get a feel for the town. Owners were so quick to respond to my questions and very accommodating to my changes I had in my travel plans. The property manager Jewel was fantastic - it was nice to know if we needed anything, she was there!
I never thought having a pool at the beach made sense until I stayed here. Simply incredible that we didn't make many trips into town. The open air concept was different and we did have a visit from an unknown critter so lock your food up. Jewel was amazing and took care of small issues quickly. Highly recommend.
The view from the house is stunning! Overall we had a wonderful time however someone entered the house through an open window while we were gone for a short time our first night. They went through our belongings and took our phones. We reported this to the property manager who didnât seem surprised and showed little empathy. We felt that there should be more warning that the house is easily accessible and frequented by locals. In fact we were told that the pool is often used by the locals when the house is unoccupied. The house is charming and very open. The floors are made of cement and polished smooth. The house has many openings to the outside that cannot be closed and one night there was a big storm which caused water to seep into the house at the base of the stairs and we slipped on several occasions; my husband fell once hurting his knee. There were no mats etc and we ended up having to place bathroom towels on the floor to soak up the water and prevent us from slipping. Given how significant the storm was, I would have been nice surprised if the property manager would have checked in on us. The storm caused the pool to fill with significant muddy downpour, which made it impossible to use until it was treated. The top two bedrooms are difficult to reach for anyone with mobility issues and the walk way is open the elements, which can get wet and become slippery. Lastly the property has very poor water pressure.
Well appointed yet charming villa in secluded part of sayulita
Great communication from host; proper amenities; charming design. Spend your days bouncing between infinity pool with baja ledge, to the North Sayulita beach which feels private. Recommend getting a golf cart for an easy ride to town for the best al pastor of your life.
My partner and I stayed at Casa Kiara with our three young adult children. It was the kids' first time in Mexico. We loved the house, the beach, the pool, Sayulita and everything about our week! I had stayed at Casa Kiara 19 years ago when I was pregnant with my youngest....it was wonderful to be back and to share the magic of the place with her! We won't wait another 19 years to visit again.....Thank you so much!
Casa kiara was amazing. The view of the beach from everywhere in the house, steps to the warm ocean with great sand. The infinity pool was great and the outside space was really nice. The rooms had AC and fans too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will be coming again.
We loved our stay at Casa Kiara. My teens and I had so much fun relaxing at this gorgeous property... it is out of the hoopla of the main beach in Sayulita but a short beach walk or golf cart ride in to town. My teens loved the "treehouse" feel and the open bathroom upstairs! I loved relaxing outside and watching the kids play in the waves. We made daily use of the boogie boards... my favorite activity was a sunset swim every night. This is the perfect house for a relaxing family getaway. We will definitely be returning. Jewel was very kind and accommodating, as was the lovely gardener who came daily. Both were eager to answer my questions about the area and to give me tips on navigating the very steep hill to the house in the golf cart!! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Casa Kiara was perfect. The property manager Jewel was always attentive and answered my many questions right away and so did the owner Sue-Ann prior to the stay. Perfect for 3 couples with a king in each room. Recommend hiring Gladys to make breakfast in the mornings. Loved Sayulita, great town with kind people. No one is in a hurry and so many places to explore. House is in nice area, quick walk beachside to town or rent a golf cart which was also part of the adventure. Looking forward to going back
Amazing location and very cool layout. Lots of lounge chairs and beach chairs to enjoy pool and beach. Everyday made good use of 4 provided boogie boards. The company suggested by the owner for airport transportation and golf cart rental was great - very glad we didnt rent a car. We spent the day on a catamaran with Alley Cat which was outstanding - saw tons of whales very close to boat. Also saw whales right out in front of the house. Wonderful experience with owner, staff, house, and locations. Highly recommend.
Family of 6 stayed at Casa Kiara for xmas 2021 and had a blast! The house was perfect for our size group, outdoor area is amazing, and the sunsets can't be beat! Our kids enjoyed boogie boarding, whale watching right from our chairs in front of the pool, and walks into town (so close) for tacos! This was our second time staying at Casa Kiara and would definitely stay again. Owners and manager are great to work with.

Casa Kiara is a beautiful retreat and is great for adults. The property manager, Jewel, was extremely responsive and had our minor issues fixed immediately.
There are some key things you should know about this casa!
There are a lot of stairs and is not handicap accessible.
It is open. Meaning there are walls and windows that are not closed off. This invites all the bugs and critters in. You do have a net around your bed but it does not zip up so you will have friends crawling on you.
You must rent a golf cart to go into town. Unless you want to walk steep hills!
The third bathroom is the tree house bathroom, and it is wide open. There is no door to the bathroom and there are no windows to close.
You sit on the toilet and have an amazing view of the beach and ocean but if thereâs anyone down on the beach looking up at you, they will see you.
These items above shouldnât deter you from booking this place but should be used to help you prepare for your trip!
This home was so much fun! The decor was uplifting and colorful, and the views were simply amazing. My two teens loved having their own spaces upstairs in the palapa bedrooms and open air bathrooms! The staff was so helpful, and we loved our dinner cooked by Gladis.
One thing that we were surprised about is how loud the neighborhood was. We had hoped that being at the end of town might yield a more peaceful stay, but we could not have been more wrong. The houses next to this one are also vacation rentals, and people come here to party! Every night (and day) except for one, there was loud music and singing into the wee hours. We let our property manager and owner know, but since there is no enforceable noise ordinance there was really nothing they could do. One party responded to our pleas to turn down the music when I knocked on their door at 1:00 am, but the others did not. It impacted our ability to enjoy the pool, to listen to our own music, to hear the sounds of the waves at night, and to watch a movie in the living room. We spend most of our time in town because of this.
The architecture & vibe of this home is everything it appears to be in the pictures. We had two families there and it worked really well. We had plenty of space and enjoyed all the incredible colors, stone paths, beautiful tropical flowers and art. Sayulita is so fun & we LOVE the art, vendors, bars. We felt really safe & it was so fun being near the jungle. The hosts and staff are very gracious. Do it!!!!
