My reservation was not honoured.they could not find anyone called Alena ,,the person who sent me my welcome email in December. I paid Expedia in November and had to pay sol caribe again to get a room for the two nights. I will need to be reimbursed my 233 dollars Canadian paid to you in nov. this was very frustrating in a country where they don’t speak your language. There was no internet or cell service so I could not talk to you at the time.I don’t want this to be a review as it will make you look real bad. This was Sol Caribe…same name, same pictures and no one knew anything about my reservation or anyone named Alena ? I gave the cab driver the e mail you sent me with the right address and everything
and got nothing in return. NOT HAPPY WITH EXPEDIA AT AT ALL

My room was with pool view and balcony. Close to restaurant, bar, beach. Very good location. Check-in was fast we arrived in the middle of the night and staff waiting for us. Thank you very much, we definitely come back here!

I dont like writing bad reviews. But i know that i depend on reviews as a traveler to another area that I've never been. I must say that the staff was helpful and gracious. But the problem with Hotel Sol Caribe is that what they advertise is not what i experienced. This hotel is very run down on the inside. I would compare it to a bad Motel 6 in the states.
Many of the furnishings are old and rusted. Yes there is a microwave and coffee pot but there is not outlet to plug them in so you cant use them. No washcloths. No welcome book telling you about the property or the area. This hotel would be a good option if you've already been tothe area and know where your going and like to party.
Speaking of party, the hotel is on a narrow street with bars and restaurants nearby. I checked in on a Friday and the party didnt stop until 1am. The music was booming so loud that i couldn't sleep. Luckily i had brought sleeping pills to help me. The bed is rock hard. Really terrible. So i called Expedia to complain and try to get a refund. They said that my reservation was non-refundable but they called the hotel to see if they would refund my money anyways. Thankfully the hotel agreed to refund my money. Thats why i say that the staff was helpful because they did communicate with me from the beginning and were planning to leave my room key out in one of their lockboxes because i thought that i was going to arrive after the office had closed. Breakfast was good.

Not as expected
Publié le 10 févr. 2023 sur HotelsWould not stay at this location in the future. Pictures of site and actual room are not as stated. We just put in our week and took this as a lesson learned!

Let's start off with the misleading names. "Beach Club" where? Beach was a 7 min walk, next "deluxe suites". It was a studio apt with a rusted fridge, stove that did not work, old coffee maker, and dirty cups, and utensils. To be fair, they had a water cooler. The bathroom had mildew in the grout lines. They advertised themselves as a hotel, not an apt. With that said, the excursions would not pick us up because they said the property was not a hotel.
I forgot about the pool, pool needed to be resurfaced, and it was dirty most of the time. There was not a convenient access to the pool, and it did not have any safety marking, such as the depth. Nothing, so I got no beach or pool. In one of their advertisement the said spa. The "SPA" begging for you to get an 80 dollar massage. Last and most irritating, they did not clean my room the entire time. The first day, I am stopped by the office to let them know. I come back to the room, untouched. I go back up, the lady tells me the do turn down every other day, and my room will be cleaned on the next day,. Day three cc ones, I go to the room....not touched. I did not go on vacation to do stuff I do at home.
I got what I paid for, not what was advertised.

Horrible dirty place
Publié le 27 janv. 2022 sur HotelsWhen we first checked in we were asked by the clerk at the desk if we wanted to go look at the room to see if we liked it, we found that to be a strange question but we said we will take the room, but to our disgust as soon as we open the door we couldn’t believe our eyes, the entry door was very hard to open and close and it had two big gaps on top and bottom. The refrigerator was nasty and dirty inside and out. The bathroom sink was clogged and a bug came out when we run the water, so we had to brushed out teeth in the kitchen sink. The floor mat by the shower had stains and it didn’t look very hygienic at all. The coffee maker was broken, dishes and kitchen sink were dirty. In a few words the place was not in condition to stay in, and they should be embarrassed to book a room in those conditions and charge 125 per night. As for the lady at reception, I think she was the manager, she was rude and short with us when we told her we were having problems connecting to the Wifi, which by the way, we were given at least 10 different passwords and told us to try which one worked, that was a joke! But Hotels.com were totally understanding of our problem and they relocated us to a wonderful hotel and we enjoyed our stay there. So thank you again for your help.
