Convenient and clean budget hotel
Posted Dec. 30, 2016 on HotelsWe stopped here for one night as part of a round-the-world trip, arriving on Christmas Day. This is a great budget hotel with easy access to Carcelen bus station. The staff are amazingly friendly even though they were working on the holidays, the room was comfortable with warm blankets, and for the price the food was great! There's also free breakfast, which was a huge plus because we had just come into town and had no idea where anything was.

Stay away..
Posted Apr. 1, 2016 on HotelsFacility located in what appears to be a bad neighborhood. Room not insulated from noise coming from outside as well inside hallway.
Food breakfast was terrible and expensive.

Worst hotel I've been to in my life
Posted Mar. 22, 2016 on Expedia
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Make the food better. Due to lack of security outside, I was forced to eat inside at the hotel's restaurant after dark. Horrible stomachache all night
Location: Nothing to do nearby. Location is in the middle of nowhere. Closest restaurant is mile away. Very unsafe area. Lots of vagabonds lurking.
Please save yourself the troubles and avoid this place. I chose this hotel because of the low price. But the first night I arrived, they made me wait an hour because they couldn't find my reservation on their system (which is not a computer but a piece of handwritten paper). Also, the price I reserved on Expedia is $17 for each night, making it $34 for two nights. The receptionist told me the total is $70. I had to pull up the reservation on my phone to show her the correct price. (I speak Spanish fluently, so there could have been no misunderstanding). She also wanted me to pay upfront, and said she couldn't give me a receipt (until I demanded to talk to her boss, then she gave me one). This place is all about taking your money. They also didn't change the linens & towels from the previous guest, and it was clear that the linen was used. Over my next two days staying here, they did not once, not once, change my sheet or towels. I
Don't get me started on location. When I came out for dinner around 6PM (and it was still light), a group of guys lurked after me (I'm a 6-foot-2 guy but I didn't feel safe here). This place has no foreign visitors and no female guests either. It's for local men who needed a short night's sleep. There was police ambulance my first night till 2AM. This place is also very far from the city center. You would need a cab $4 each way to go to any attraction, and they won't know direction to it.
Don't focus on saving a few bucks and end up losing more

Cheap but frustrating experience away from city
Posted Sep. 2, 2015 on Expedia
Pros: Bed was OK
Cons: Staff training
Location: You can walk the local area and little shops and stalls, and see how the people live.
We prepaid using Expedia, but the young hotel manager had little English, and all through our stay he kept insisting that we pay him cash, plus a surcharge for our room. We ended up leaving early to escape the harrassment.
The hotel is cheap and worn, and the cleanliness leaves something to be desired. Dirty dishes in the restaurant sat on the tables for hours. We had trouble getting milk for coffee. Rubbish was blowing around in the outdoor area... where there is only one small table and two chairs under a leaky shelter.
The front gate is locked until about seven thirty am so you can't get out for an early walk around.
