"Casa di Leo" Bright And Romantic House Surrounded by Medieval Walls and Pool

“Casa di Leo” Holiday Home is a big, wonderful and a bit Romantic house and it is located in Belforte, a small and delightful characteristic medieval village just 3 km away from Radicondoli.
Thanks to its strategic position on a hilltop, Belforte was founded as military fortress by the Romans. Largely preserved today, the walls which surround the village are in the care of Commission for the Architectural and Landscape Heritage for the Province of Siena . The latest written information about the village dates from 1215. The Holiday Home is ideal for families, groups of friends or simply perfect for people who desire to spend a relaxing holiday in the lap of nature and art, among the beautiful and sweet Tuscan hills. The Holiday Home is very big (200 sm) and it was largely reorganized in 2012. Building materials have been well-chosen, according both to quality and naturalness. Work and hand-painted Italian ceramics were used both in the big bathroom on the first floor and in the little one in the mansard; the parquet, which covers the whole area, has been totally made in Italy, it is natural and completely absent of further artificial treatments. All that has been done according to a philosophy which favours quality over quantity.

The house is organized on three different floors. On the lower floor there is a big typical taverna with wooden-beamed ceiling: there is a big living room with sofas, armchairs and TV, ideal for parties, for enjoying a film in front of the huge fireplace during the cold winter, or even just for playing board games with friends. Here it is also possible to find some local geographical maps and a big bookcase, if you want to relax and read a bit, and there is also a little musicians corner with piano and a guitar, so that musicians can feel at home and play.
The first floor is the bigger and main one. Here there is a wide living room, a modern kitchen, a dining room, three bright bedrooms and two bath rooms. On the second floor there is a bath room and the biggest bedroom of Leo’s house; in front of this one there is a panoramic terrace/solarium overlooking the amazing landscape.
The house is surrounded by a huge neat garden (700 sm) with flowers and fruit trees (cheery, apricot, plum, grape, apple and pear trees), two wonderful pergolas and a new swimming-pool! This one has been built in full compliance with the natural environment and the surrounding walls (in the care of Commission for the Architectural and Landscape Heritage). Near the swimming pool, there is an area with sunbeds, beach umbrellas and chairs.
Animals are, as general rule, welcome!
Casa di Leo’s owners are a young and friendly couple, active and efficient, always ready to help you to make your stay unforgettable. They both speak good English and French and are always available not only to give you simple information and suggestion, but trying to transmit you love and passion for such wonderful places, hoping that you could also fall in love with them.

Peaceful retreat high on a hill
We so enjoyed our nine nights at Leo’s beautiful place in Belforte. This is a tiny Medieval town at the top of the mountain. So quiet except for the church bells, and occasional kids running through the town. A nice retreat from the business of other Tuscany tourist attractions. The home is very spacious with four bedrooms and large outdoor gathering areas . Fruit trees and grape vines in the yard add to the ambiance . The kitchen was well equipped, with everything one would need and the bathrooms are great! Although there was no air conditioning, between the windows open and the fans, we were just fine when the temperature was high and cozy when it dropped.. The one store in town had everything we needed and we enjoyed the restaurant several times. Leo was always there to answer questions or help us if we needed something. He has a book with lots of recommendations as well. The house is situated up a winding road with a beautiful views of another Hilltown, Radicondolli, which is only about five minutes away, driving. Another fun place to visit! Our friends who came to visit were blown away by the beauty of Leo’s plqce!

Gorgeous Tuscan Home
We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Leo in Tuscany. The gardens and pool in the backyard are stunning The small village of Belforte is charming and remote. It does require extra drive time to get to other major hill towns. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped. Leo is a fantastic host that was responsive, helpful and keeps the house in great condition. It is laid out over 3 levels and the upper level can only be reached from outside. Overall I recommend this property.

A wonderful stay!
Our, five retirees, stay at Casa di Leo for 10 nights was absolutory delightful. The villa was very spacious with various gathering places inside and multiple garden areas outside to enjoy. The whole villa was well equipped and immaculately clean! Belforte is a small walled medieval village with a single restaurant serving the best pizza and a tabacchi shop (small convenience store) where we were warmly greeted each day when we shopped for essentials like bread, eggs and milk. Leo our host was attentive and responsive starting with a personal greeting and tour of the property upon arrival, providing answers to our questions during our visit and a quick stop by before we left. Our stay at Casa di Leo will be among the best memories from our time in Italy. Definity a five star stay.

Magical time in Tuscany
We could not have had a better stay (or a better host) for this trip with my elderly parents. The house is wonderful and easily sleeps 6-8 with privacy and comfort. We cooked and ate most meals at home and the kitchen is exceptionally well set up. Leo (the host) is one of the nicest people we have met: generous, informative and genuinely interested in solving any issues that arose. We had a pump failure in the heating one morning and he got it fixed within a few hours. Cannot recommend more highly.

A wonderful stay in beautiful Tuscany
Our group of 6 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful villa located in the remote medieval village of Belforte in the Tuscan hills. The villa was nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and well-equipped with all the modern conveniences one would expect. There were multiple outdoor garden seating areas where we enjoyed sipping wine, eating grapes off the arbor and listening to the birds chirping and church bells ringing. We arranged to have a chef prepared home cooked meal for our first night in the villa. A perfect and delicious way to start off our stay! The people of Belforte were very friendly and we enjoyed walking the cobblestone streets admiring the views and medieval buildings. There are very limited dining and shopping options in Belforte and a vehicle is an absolute necessity. It is a 15 minute drive to the town of Radicondoli which has several excellent restaurants. The villa is nicely situated for day trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Florence and surrounding Tuscan wineries. While the roads to the villa are a bit curvy, it forces you to slow down and enjoy the beautiful views. We thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed our stay at Casa di Leo and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends. We hope to return one day. Thank you to Leo and Alessandra for sharing their beautiful home and making our week’s visit so fantastic.

Dream stay in Tuscany
Everything you have read or can read about this property and it’s amazing owners is true. The property itself is spectacular, a truly unique place where the pictures can’t really do the beauty of the estate justice. The owners, Leo and Alessandra were an absolute joy to work with and we’re so accommodating of everything we needed throughout our stay. If you’re looking to explore Tuscany, this is a fantastic home base that is 45 mins to an hour away for a number of great cities and experiences. A must stay and a place we absolutely plan on returning to shortly!

We stayed a week as a family in this fabulous home, literally a window onto the range of roman and medieval history in Tuscany. Our host was attentive, and informative and the definition of gracious. If anything, the pictures posted of the property simply do not do it justice, from the facade and interior to the gardens and walks in the countryside. We could not have asked for a better, more comfortable and serene visit.

True Italy
We had a wonderful experience at "Casa di Leo"! My wife, our children and my wife's father (6 of us) traveled from the U.S. to visit our son who is studying abroad in Siena. Belforte is about 50 minutes from Siena. The house was set up perfectly for us, probably even more space than we needed. The view from the backyard is breathtaking. Belforte is a bit remote which made us experience Italy as the locals instead of a tourist and gave us a true taste of Italy. Leo (the owner) could not have been more helpful throughout the entire process, both before we arrived, and while we were there. He had great advice for things to do and places to go, as well as a recommendation for a driver (Federico), who was also terrific for our long excursions including winery tours. We had a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will cherish always.

Magical!
Our family stayed at Leo’s incredible place for 3 nights and had the most amazing time! It is located within the walls of a castle which is now a small hamlet. Leo and his chef friend Luana cooked a delicious dinner for us on our first night there.. what a perfect way to start our family vacation! We explored nearby Siena and the Chianti region and came back each night and played games in the comfortable den downstairs by a roaring fire! Our only regret was that it was not long enough! Thank you, Leo, for such a magical time!

Beautifully authentic Tuscan experience
Leo was a terrific host, making himself available for questions and conversation surrounding points of interest, village history, and activities in the area. This home is situated in a charming village and is very well cared for - home is very clean, well stocked, and the grounds were lovely. Waking up to the most beautiful morning views was a highlight of my week. We rented a van and enjoyed beautiful, scenic views on our way to Florence and Sienna - all within 30-60mins drives. Our inability to speak Italian was not an issue as our host was fluent in English - which came in very handy as Leo gave us very good input on navigating the area. The village grocery store is well stocked and is a 2 minute walk. Fresh cheese, meats, bread, are available here. Charming Tuscany home and village - I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Beautiful home in a warm and inviting town
Our family stayed in Belforte for the first time while traveling to Tuscany for a week. The home is beautiful very clean. Leo is an excellent host very helpful and accommodating. The home comes equip with everything you need and more. There’s even a finished basement area for hanging out and a piano. The back yard is beautiful. We love the people of Belforte. There is a market walking distance as well as a restaurant/coffee shop which are nice perks to have. We would walk there each morning for a cappuccino and croissant. We experienced May day trips. Most places are 30-60 minutes from the house as it’s more in the country side but we loved the views and would stay here again. 100% recommend.

Thank you Leo for an amazing stay at your beautiful villa! And thank you for welcoming us when we arrived so late in the evening! You were always there for us if and when we had a question or need. You have put in a lot of effort to make the villa perfect. The villa was clean, spacious and inviting. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a few meals when we weren't enjoying the ambiance and pizza at La Mura. We had a great time even with the rain while walking around Belforte exploring and enjoying the beauty and scenery. The privacy in your garden and patios and the views from your villa are beautiful! Very inviting and relaxing! Please extend a big thank you to Federico and Alessandro for making our stay wonderful! Everyone we encountered in Belforte were friendly and kind. I wish we could have stayed longer! And truly hope to visit your beautiful home again! Thank you for making our stay wonderful!

Fabulous Tuscany Retreat
We arrived to a wonderful clean well maintained villa. Upon arrival we were met by a super friendly and helpful host who spoke excellent English. Our host Leo directed us to all the places we wanted to see in Tuscany and was allows available within minutes to answer any of our questions and to recommend places to visit or dine. The small town Belforte is quint and typical of a Tuscan village. Many of our essentials were available on arrival until we could visit a market. We enjoyed the pool, yard and outside pergola (which was covered with ripe grapes that we could pick and eat while sitting and enjoying the spectacular views. We hated to leave, as a group of 6 there was plenty of room and space along with privacy. This is a once in a lifetime Tuscany experience.

This beautiful villa is in the small amazing village of Belforte, perfectly central to see the best areas of Tuscany. Leo was a great host, met us outside on the street to help us find the house and kept in touch to see if we needed anything. The Villa has everything you would ever need, is beautifully decorated and large - so great for being able to spread out and have private times or eat together in or outside. Three generations of our family enjoyed a week stay here-it was so perfect. Lots of indoor and outdoor space, comfy rooms, plenty of bathrooms and a large kitchen. The pool was fabulous as well. Great Home, Great Owner
We just returned from our trip, which included a week at Leo's lovely home in Belforte. The home is very spacious and quite nice, lots of indoor and outdoor spaces to gather in. Leo was extremely accommodating, providing a lot of useful information about the immediate area and beyond. We took advantage of his offer to have a chef prepared meal at the home, and it was a wonderful dinner at a very reasonable price. Belforte is a very small town with limited services, one restaurant and one small grocery but Rocondoli (5 km away) is more substantial. More importantly, it is reasonably close to Siena, Florence, the coast and other areas which makes it a great location for exploring all of Tuscany. I highly recommend this home.

Beautiful rustic property well equipped and peaceful location
Leo was a very friendly and helpful host sharing his local knowledge with us and nothing was too much trouble. Well maintained property and the children loved the pool. Well equipped for all ages. Belforte is small but there is a restaurant/bar which is reasonably priced and a very small shop with the basics in stock. Would highly recommend the property only difficulty we had was our 2 yr old son who was into everything and was just the wrong age for trying to climb up everything and there are several stair cases. Our family would definitely return.

Charming villa-in-town with garden
We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in Leo & Alessandra's villa in Belforte. We were 3 couples with more than enough bedrooms to choose from; there were also 3 separate full bathrooms which was important for our group. The main living and cooking area facing the garden is bright & cheerful, and where we spent most of our time. The garden is as charming as in the photos and offers great views of the valley; unfortunately it rained much of the week so we were not able to enjoy it as much as we would have liked. The pool at the bottom of the garden would be a welcome feature in warm weather. Leo & Alessandra were very responsive and helpful during our stay; we opted for a cooked dinner one evening and were treated to a sumptuous feast of Tuscan cuisine. Truly amazing. Another night at Leo's suggestion we dined in nearby Radicondoli at Agriteca - also delicious food and a cozy, welcoming ambience. Leo's friend, Federico, gave us a tailored, full day Chianti wine tour, capping it off with a visit to the local butcher for some fabulous bistecca to grill. Everyone we met was friendly & accommodating. We would return to this charming villa and part of Tuscany in a heartbeat!

Casa di Leo is a perfect Tuscan vacation home.
Leo and Alessandra have created a warm, lovely and restful home that made it possible to love our family vacation from day one. They welcomed us and shared their hosting priority that we would be in Italy and enjoy ourselves. They added much to our vacation time with ideas and enhanced maps of our planned area visits and as good hosts do, they also made suggestions of visits we didn't know to make. Their suggestions turned out to be some of the highlights of our ten days in Tuscany. We took advantage of Chef Luana and Alessandra for two evening meals cooked in 'our' home and we were given absolutely beautiful food, both in taste and presentation. We cannot thank Leo and Alessandra and Belforte enough for a holiday time that was close to perfect for all five of us. Grazie, grazie!

Beautiful comfortable house with lovely views
The house was as per all the photos but better. All the bedrooms were comfortable and the showers were excellent. We had the top room which was lovely, especially having a cup of tea on the sunny balcony. Everything worked and as we were cooking for 6 every night it was great to have everything we needed in the kitchen. Leo and Alessandra were so welcoming and gave us plenty of ideas for days out, we just needed to stay longer to do it all, especially since we stayed around the house and village for a couple of days as it was so peaceful and the views from the garden are so lovely. The village is very pretty and although the shop is very small it has enough if you don't want to go out. The fish van on the Thursday was excellent. We would love to visit again as we left feeling so relaxed. Thank you so much for all your help and care of the garden and house.

Fantastic holiday in a lovely villa
My family and I cannot recommend this holiday home highly enough. It was comfortable and spacious and well equipped to accommodate the family. There are three double bedrooms and one 4-bedroomed family room, which was en suite. Apart from the house was wonderful outside garden areas with a large table so that we could eat outside all the time. THere was lovely area to sit mor quietly and then a large garden area with the pool - necessary to cool off in he lovely Tuscan sun. The owner was so welcoming, friendly, informative and helpful. he provided information about where we might like to visit locally and worked hard to ensure we could enjoy our holiday. this was a brilliant holiday in the most beautiful house in a lovely part of Italy. Wonderful stay
We absolute loved our stay here. We had a great welcoming from the owners, who were very helpful with anything we wanted to know, they are a very chilled friendly couple! The place is extremely well equipped, it has everything you need- toilet paper, salt, pepper, oil, washing up liquid, hand soap etc.... so you don't need to worry about buying any of that before you arrive (we are used to staying in villas/apartments with none of this stuff). The whole place is very spacious and it's very clean and comfortable, we couldn't reccomend it higher. Our only niggle (other than the fact we only had a week) was that it was pretty hot at night and they could do with some fans in the bedrooms. The location is perfect if you have hired a car, Radicondoli is only 10 mins drive with some nice restaurants, and a festival with a great atmosphere every Thursday. Other towns to visit (Siena/ San gimignano/ monterigioni) only 30-40 mins away. There is not much in belforte, it is a very cute typically Italian town with one shop, a cafe and a post office- opening hours are all a bit dodgey, but they are only about 1 mins walk from the house so it didn't really matter. Hopefully we shall return some day.
