Nestled amongst the Carolina pines in the heart of Research Triangle’s horse country is The Estate at Nimich Pond. The Estate is a 4200 square foot, three story, custom home on nearly six acres of prime real estate that can comfortably sleep up to 14 people. Furnished to create an atmosphere of a French Country Horse Farm, you’ll feel the sensation of being transported away from the everyday the very moment you arrive. In addition to the sleeping accommodations, The Estate offers a modern dine in kitchen, a cozy formal dining room, a family room, a bonus room, and a large screened in porch offering breathtaking views of the property.

Relaxation and comfort are the theme at the Estate, so whether you have chosen to get away with the family or with a group a friends, the amenities at the Estate were designed with you in mind. Sit out on the porch or patio and take in the beauty of nature surrounded by tall pine and birch trees and a veritable aviary of wild birds that soar above Nimich Pond. Or get up close and personal with the pond on our dock, while enjoying the tranquil sound of splashing water emitting from the in pond fountain. Looking for a little more? How about a cool dip in the new inground private salt water swimming pool, or explore the various planting beds, or the walking trails, or get your short game in order on our personal putting green or spend time with the young ones on the jungle gym swing set.

Even though you will feel as though you are far away from everything, in reality you are merely a stone’s throw from everything. Downtown Raleigh and Downtown Durham are both just twenty five minutes away; so whether you are visiting to attend a Wolfpack or Blue Devil game, or see a show at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), the Estate places you right in the middle of these and other central Carolina event venues. Within fifteen minutes are three of the area’s renown golf courses; Falls Village, The Crossings, and Wildwood Green as well as a host of equestrian facilities suitable to the beginner or the experienced rider. 70th Birthday Celeb
We gathered to celebrate our patriarch’s 70th birthday, and although we couldn’t make it to the mountains as planned, we stumbled upon a gem of a home that exceeded our expectations! Our son found this property, and we’re so grateful he did. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel welcomed with a delightful "welcome basket" filled with snacks that the kids immediately dove into, and two bottles of wine for the adults that were equally appreciated. The hosts were incredibly responsive to our questions, and you could truly sense their love for the property through its beautiful upkeep and charming decor. The house was perfect for our needs, comfortably accommodating 11 of us across several cozy bedrooms. The Paddock and barn provided endless entertainment for the cousins, who enjoyed practicing their volleyball skills, competing in sack races, and engaging in friendly rivalry with air hockey, foosball, and basketball. We even organized a putting contest on the greens, which added to the fun! One of the highlights was the heated pool, which the kids loved even in October. It felt like we were a hundred miles away in a serene mountain retreat, yet we were conveniently located just 1.3 miles from a grocery store, making everything easy and accessible. I wholeheartedly recommend this home for a family reunion. It has everything you need for a memorable gathering, with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. We can’t wait to return!

This property was incredible. The pool was lovely and the towel caddy was a nice touch. All of the outdoor seating, including the pond-side deck was great and the numerous beds were much appreciated for everyone. And the putting green out back and all of the games in the barn were a fantastic finishing touch. Would definitely return on our next trip to Raleigh! The Estate at Nimich Pond- Amazing Week with Amazing Hosts
My family and I (11 total- 6 adults and 5 children) just spent a week at Melissa and Maurice’s property from 7/13 until 7/19. The check in process was seamless. The home is immaculate and spacious, Melissa and Maurice really care for it and ensure you have an enjoyable stay. They are the best hosts I’ve ever encountered through rental stays! The grounds are gorgeous and the property is private even though there are neighboring properties. When we weren’t exploring Raleigh’s museums we filled our time swimming in the pool, relaxing poolside and fishing from the dock. We made so many family memories through the week. I would highly recommend this property to anyone searching for a rental property and would come back! Thank you so much to Melissa and Maurice for your hospitality!

Best vacation stay ever
I don't know where to start! The house is amazing with many spacious and comfortable rooms to fit all of my family comfortably as well as a fabolous enclosed patio and we loved every bit of the place. The pool was definitely a plus for keeping us nice and cool during the hot summer days and the barnhouse is filled with many games and entertainment for all of my family to enjoy! To top it off, Melissa & Maurice were outstanding hosts, willing and able to assist us if ever needed and did everything in their power to provide a lovely stay for us. This property is one of the most beautiful properties I have visited on this site. There was plenty to see and do. Beautiful Getaway for our Family
We enjoyed our stay at Nimich Pond. We had 4 adults and 5 children. The property has a putting green, swing set, and all types of games in the barn for the kids to enjoy. The house was very clean and organized and the hosts were pleasant and easy to communicate with. We spent time at the adventure park about 3 miles away which had many activities for the whole family, we decided to go with a private paintball game and was memorable. If you are looking for a place to enjoy with your family, we would recommend this property. The hosts left plenty of snacks for our family to enjoy, our 5 boys nearly ate them all but was a welcomed surprise.

This is a great place to stay north of Raleigh close to Durham for a family gathering during a holiday or anytime. Lists of bedrooms. Top loft sleeps 5-6 kids. The barn is very cool with so many games to play inside and the outside artificial turf play area is perfect for fun games. The decks and patios are great as well as the view of the backyard pond and landscape. The owners take great care of everything including welcome gifts and snacks. For us during Christmas it was beautifully decorated for the holidays including a Christmas tree. We highly recommend this location for any family gathering at any time of the year.

The property is beautiful! Outside the grounds are beautiful. The pond area is relaxing. Lots to do. The barn has plenty of games to enjoy. There’s a nice quiet trail around the property. We did not enjoy the pool because it was too cold for us. Inside the property is beautifully decorated. There’s plenty of space for a large group. Beds are comfy and all essentials are available. This property offered everything described in the listing and more. Maurice and Melissa were gracious and helpful and they quickly answered any questions we had. Our grandkids loved the playground and we all enjoyed the putting green, expansive back yard, and games in the barn. The pond provided a perfect backdrop for our family photos. Maurice and Melissa are awesome! We saw them every day when they came to clean the pool and bring fresh pool towels. They are so friendly and just awesome people. The pool was the hit of the vacation. We all used it every single day. The barn was fantastic! We had a hoe down on our second night there. It was so much fun. The house was fantastic. We had enough room for everyone who came. The beds are comfy, although a little small, but comfortable. Everything was very clean and ready to go. The only thing I would recommend is to get a new set of kitchen knives. The knives were not sharp at all and had a hard time cutting food. I would recommend this house to anyone that wants to stay in that area.

We rented The Estate@Nimich Pond for family coming for our daughter's wedding. The accommodations and plentiful on-site activities were awesome. The owners are amazing; their love for the property and their desire to make sure guests are happy and comfortable are beyond measure. We wouldn't hesitate to rent again.
