Tv does not work, no wifi, there was a frog in the pool, and we found a frog in the room.

Ysabel, thank you for selecting Kick Back. We just had fiber optic installed on the property and we are in the process of distributing wifi. We have wifi in Cowboy Town but not yet in the Kick Back West section. We hope to have this completed by mid October. Most TV's on the property are on antenna which gives about 20 stations. Yes benches and a place to hang clothes are on our list of task! So sorry about the frogs! With all the rain that is part of life in the country!

Relaxing
Publié le 24 août 2021 sur HomeAwayAwsome weekend. Very relaxing. Very clean and very QUITE. The lady in the office was wonderful and very helpful. The price was good for the things that you have available to you. The only thing that was a little pricey was the rental of the golf cart, other then that every thing was GREAT.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Kick Back! Yes we can see where it seems the golf carts are expensive $45 for a day or $65 for overnight. Yet after gas or electric charge then repairs & maintenance from rentals this is where we have had to land with the price. Golf carts are nice to have yet optional. We hope you return and come and enjoy a nice winter fire with us. Mindy

Nice getaway-rustic so dont assume, ask!

This style cabin is great for a group 4 or less but be prepared to chill your food with ice in a cooler and to cook over a grill. Stop for groceries BEFORE arriving as there are no stores or restaurants near by. WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!!! Wanted to get away from it all and this location truly is.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review it is helpful to us and those planning a get a way too! Next time you come plan on a short trip (less than 15 minutes) to Sylvia's Produce in Lapine. There you can buy fresh produce, shelled peas, homemade cakes, and more! Then stop at Kelly's for fresh cut steaks or he will package you some hamburger meat for the grill. You can "glamp" in our cowboy cabins or try our a Kick Back West which has a full bath, mini refrig & microwave. Our Wagon Wheels which were just down the hill from you have full kitchens. Now that you have enjoyed the heat with us plan on a fall get -a-way and enjoy time warming up by the fire pit. Hope to see you soon. Thank you, Mindy

We stayed in the wagon wheel cabin
Publié le 26 juill. 2021 sur HomeAwayOur family and dogs stayed in the wagon wheel cabin july10th-14th. On the listing it doesn’t say that it is an upper and lower cabin unit so we thought that the whole cabin was ours but it was actually just the lower cabin. It also said it could sleep up to six and that’s impossible. There’s one queen bed and the bunk beds which say twin top and full bottom are just actually 2 twin bunks. So I don’t know where 2 other people would sleep considering there is no pull out sofa. I understood we wouldn’t be able to use the pool because it’s just for residents but we found out from fellow campers you could buy a pool pass. Which is $10 per person per day which is an absolute rip off! The grounds are clean and the cabin was clean and very nice. Now the “lakes” are not lakes at all more like large cow ponds. They smelled and I wouldn’t even allow my dogs near it. Cow boy beach is tiny. Not at all like pictured. We were excited about peddle boats but they were so full of water we couldn’t even get in them or move them. Even though the lakes are not what we expected my kids really enjoyed themselves and especially the water slide. The staff was great and kind. We would definitely go back I just wish the pool was open to people staying in the cabins. Not even the small cabins but to families who booked the larger cabins and since we did stay 5 days. It would of been nice to have access to the pool considering the description of the lakes was nothing like what is actually on the property. But over all it was a very fun trip and we would definitely go back hopefully when the pool is open!

The Wagon Wheels are up to 6 people. We have roll away beds, blow up mattresses, and a queen portable sofa bed for guest who need more sleeping room. We have struggled over the pool being open to only our full time guest and those with memberships. Unfortunately until COVID is over we do not see opening the pool to guest. We will check the paddle boats and see why water is in them. 4 of our lakes (ponds) are primarily for fishing. The main lake is the one most enjoy the boats on. We strive to provide a vacation spot where families can enjoy the outdoors. Our team is working hard to make improvements and exceed expectations.

Awesome place to take your grandkids!!!
Publié le 30 juin 2021 sur HomeAwayThis was a very family oriented place to stay. My grandkids enjoyed all that was there to do. They especially love the waterslide. Very clean place and the woman in the gift shop/store was awesome. We really liked her.

Disappointed
Publié le 1 juin 2021 sur HomeAwayThis was a nice quiet place the people where friend. But I paid 300 and was not able to use there pool but could swim in the dirty pond no thank you. The water slide is nice for the kids. I'm not a kid and wanted to get some sun floating in the pool but I was not allowed that was unaware and uncalled for.

I hope you were able to find Cowboy Beach on the property. Cowboy Beach has a white sand beach and the sandy entrance into the lake. It's a great place to float and enjoy the sun. When COVID hit we closed our pool except for our full time residents. This is why the pool is not listed in vrbo and our web site states pool closed. The Cowboy Beach and the water slide is enjoyed by young and old! Our goal is for our guest to enjoy their time here. We are so sorry we did not meet your expectations.

Great Getaway
Publié le 12 avr. 2021 sur HomeAwayThis property has many different options for accommodations. We stayed in a "cowboy cabin." We wanted to get away, and that we did! The bathhouse/restroom is a short distance from any of the cabins . Best of all, for the kids and parents alike, is that the water slide is right accross from the cabins! We absolutely loved our stay and will return this summer.
Note for future guests: It is quite a hike to any nearby grocery stores/restaurants. Plan accordingly.
