Welcome to the Happy Trails Lodge! You will enjoy a newer 4 bedroom, 2 bath cabin with views of the hills, pine trees and pasture, centrally located at the Three Forks, intersection of Hwy 385 & Hwy 16. From here, you will have easy access to all the central hills attractions, including Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Sheridan Lake, Pactola Reservoir, Hill City, Keystone and the Black Hills National Forest. With such easy access to everything, you will be able to relax more, drive less, and enjoy the beautiful views right from the deck. The home features modern interior finishes, custom woodwork, creative lighting accents, 3 queen beds and one King size. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa, and a twin sleeper sofa in the living room for your extra guests. Each bedroom is equipped with a TV, bedside lamps, an overhead fan, a large closet with hangers and shelves, extra air mattresses and bedding. The house is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, toilet paper, paper towels, 12 cup coffee maker, dishes, dish soap, utensils, crock pot, iron, bed sheets, pillows, extra blankets, quilts and pillows for extra beds, also a propane gas grill and outdoor furniture. We hope your stay is comfortable and relaxing. This is your time, so enjoy your vacation in the Black Hills!

We had a great stay & an excellent location for the events & sightseeing we had planned. The house was wonderful, nicely decorated & layout very accommodating. The house was well stocked with kitchen supplies, linens, towels etc. All the beds very comfortable. The surrounding area by the house was gorgeous. We loved watching the deer that visited in the mornings & evenings. Yvonne was great to work with & responded to our questions or concerns in a very timely manner. Very much appreciated. We highly recommend this house & hope to return in the future.

Great Home Base for Black Hills

This is our second stay at this property. The house is comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and well stocked. It is in a very convenient location to see the area. I highly recommend this beautiful house.

Home away from home!!!

First of all Yvonne communicated with us with every detail we would need to stay in her home. Easy check-in, Meticulous house, So many extras in the kitchen-including coffee and the perfect location!! Although we were out all day long, it was so nice to come back to such a cozy home. We booked this home back in 2020 but had to cancel for obvious reasons. Thank goodness it was available now!! Book this home now!!!

Convenient location, less secluded than we expected

Short drive into Hill City! Great layout with 2 bedrooms by each bath. Open layout was nice with lots of seating for dining and lounging. Big deck was a major plus. Decent internet for light usage. Lots of TVs. Put put golf within walking distance big plus for our kids. Consider checking the schedule at the nearby event center as outdoor events can be pretty noisy. House was relatively well insulated for sound, but we could have had a dance party on the deck. Overall, really enjoyed our stay!

This has been one of the best experiences we've had in the Black Hills. We are 2 couple's that come to the Hill City area every year, and have stayed in several VRBOs. Our hosts, Yvonne, has been absolutely terrific!. Its close to many amenities. You will not be disappointed!!!

We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful stay! The house is well maintained and very clean. The location is perfect and centrally located for everything we wanted to see and do. Happy Trails Lodge is amazing! It is conveniently located to all of the Black Hills & attractions. It is beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need & very clean & maintained very well. We have stayed at this property 3 times as it perfectly meets our needs with 4 bedrooms & 2 baths. The hosts are very easy to work with & respond quickly to any questions. Wedding at diamond sour

We were in the area for a wedding at the diamond spur event center. This was a perfect place to stay to be close to the wedding festivities. The house had room for all 7 of us. The kitchen counter was perfect for feeding the kids. Can’t imagine what the view would be in the summer.

We said we’d be back and we’ll return again!

We stayed at Happy Trails for the first time last February & after many trips to the Black Hills through the years & staying multiple different places, we knew we’d finally found “our place!” We love the location & ease of accessibility! It is very centrally located & you can be anywhere in the Hills with a short drive on great roads! The lodge is perfectly appointed & the kitchen is equipped with everything one could possibly need! The towels & bedfing are great as well! We did not have any problems with the WiFi or Roku TV. Yvonne is very responsive to any questions & so easy to work with! We are already looking forward to our next visit! Time to check the availability calendar!! 😍

Great place for a family trip

I stayed at this property with my family. It was meticulously clean and had a great open layout. Checking into the property was easy. The kitchen is huge and there was plenty of dishwear and cookware. The only thing I’d be wary of is it was a great place for a family but sounds carry since the bedrooms are off the living area. If you go with your friends and they stay up late being loud you will hear it clearly.

Beautiful house and great location

The house was as nice as it looked in the pictures. Great location near gas station, trails and food. Only 4 miles to Hill City where we had dinner and drinks several times. The house was very well stocked. There was even shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers! I would definitely recommend this house.

Perfect for Family Trip

The house was exactly what we needed for a trip for a family wedding. We loved the four bedroom setup and big kitchen / dining area. Bonus that it was walking distance to the wedding venue, and also other cabins/campsites where we had family and friends staying. Beautiful views too!
