We've visited Palm Grove every time I've visited Rarotonga, and we will continue to stay everytime we come. The beach villa was the best experience we have had.
We loved the privacy, access and the villa itself! Love the happy hour and the free snorkel/kayak equipment.
The bus stop outside made transport around the island easy.
The SPCA is just down the road, and a fast travel to walk the dogs in the morning.
We didn't need our room cleaned everyday - due to our own reasons, but the equipment they left made cleaning the room a breeze.
Thank you Palm Grove for an exceptional stay-cation!!

We chose it for the fantastic beach area and the wide lagoon to swim and snorkel in. Along with staying at a smaller resort which is quiet. The free breakfast was very good with a range of fruits and baked goods. All our lunch and dinners at the Hibiscus restaurant were great value and tasty. Loved the caesar salad.
While the units are clean, they are looking a little tired and could.do.with new paint. The pool was quiet small and we didnt end up using it as we preferred the beach.

Room was run-down and in need of maintenance. Ceiling fan did not work properly. Initial lack of hot water caused by the need to keep depressing a heater switch which we were not told about. Chickens and roosters wandering about the property making noise and entering the deck area looking for food hand-outs.

Thanks for your lovely feedback. Such a shame you made no comments to any staff about a single issue during your 10 night stay with us. Your bungalow has an eco-friendly solar hot water system. As a result of some grey weather, the solar needed some help from the electric booster; this booster switch is on the wall in the entry hallway, with a large sign indicating it - and further details about the hot water system are provided in your room compendium. Pressing the booster switch once will provide ample hot water for 24+ hours in just 20 minutes. I've just been to your bungalow and can find no fault with the ceiling fans. Chickens and roosters are fact on life on the island of Rarotonga and are everywhere. Cheers.

Just returned from another stay at Palm Grove and we will be back again in the future! Can’t beat this place for the value and location! Spend the few extra bucks and upgrade to the beachfront studios, they are fantastic! Staff is always friendly and the free tropical breakfast is great! Thank you SO much for another wonderful stay at Palm Grove!

Would not stay here again
Publié le 27 juill. 2023 sur HotelsPalm Grove is well located with a nice beach. Restaurant was clean and meals were good. However the "resort" is in need of maintenance and refurbishment. Stench of blocked drains in G7 bungalow, no hot water in kitchen of G10, doors that don't lock from the inside in G9. At almost $400 per night I expected some sympathy/empathy and help with my request for a firm mattress due to a back injury. No sympathy and no assistance at all. I spent 7 nights sleeping on cushions on the floor. Would not stay here again. Much better accommodation options nearby.

Kia Orana Joe. Sorry to hear you had such a different experience from so many of our happy guests. With the exception of asking me for a different mattress, none of the other issues you've mentioned were ever raised with Management. As I explained to you, we only have the same type of high quality commercial grade mattresses in every bungalow, so it was impossible for me to supply you with a different mattress. To be honest, we usually receive rave reviews about our mattresses, so your feedback is very out of the ordinary. I certainly did say I was very sorry to hear your back issues were bothering you, so I'm unsure how that translated to "no sympathy." Given that the same hot water is supplied to all of G10, I have no idea how the kitchen wouldn't have hot water when the bathroom does; I've just been over to that unit now and there is no issue with the hot water in the kitchen. Our Garden Studios at 285/night, not almost 400. Sounds like Palm Grove Resort was the wrong accommodation choice for you and we do hope you enjoy a better option next time. Cheers.

Bring ear plugs!
Publié le 5 juill. 2023 sur HotelsI love this property. We've bene going to it since 1996. HOWEVER! There are roosters on the island and this property has one that sleeps near B8 on the edge of the property. Now, most roosters will start going off at sunrise as is their nature, but Raro roosters like to sound off at midnight and throughout the night. In 2016, we were in B8 and the rooster that was there went off every hour from 11 pm through 7 am. And the bungalows are not sound proof. Nearly ruined that vacation. This time, I thought I was being smart and asked in my reservation, which was done several months in advance, to specifically not be placed in the ocean bungalows near the rooster. The property's response was roosters don't sleep in the palm trees. That is correct, but there is a different type of tree near the road, right next to B8 and it DOES sleep in that tree. Well, guess what units we got? B7 and B8, right next to the rooster. AGAIN. This rooster wasn't as bad but it still went off at midnight and 4 am. I love this property but I don't think I will be going back there again, which is a great shame. Not sure if roosters are protected (which is what I was told in 2016 when I was at my wits end) but if so, someone could make a good living relocating roosters from resort areas into the center of the island. The location is great; near the 24/7 Wigmore's store, very few people on the beach, and lots of fish in the snorkeling area which is 200 yards of 4 ft deep water.

The owner of the property could be more hospitable. All staff is wonderful. The owner, she could take some lessons from them!!
Even “Good Morning” would be a good start.
